Brokers like Safeway Moving Systems are at a disadvantage when it comes to controlling their reputation in the marketplace. They're middlemen. Middlemen can be very useful. For one thing, they can sometimes find you a lower price than you might be able to find yourself on many services, including moving. But with Safeway, you need to keep in mind that the company that carries your boxes down the stairs and drives them where they need to go is not going to be the company you signed a contract with. That means that Safeway isn't always responsible for customers' problems—either physically or legally. It also means the reviews and complaints you read about the company may actually be about one of Safeway's partner moving companies. Sent this letter to the company, no response yet February 25, 2021 Attn: Safeway Moving Systems RE: Quote # Please respond within 24 hours from today, by 9:30am 2/26/2021 I spoke with Joe and received an estimate to move my items, it was a very small load and he quoted me at $3099.25 for 256 cf. I gave him a very detailed list of items, a couple of things I actually ended up not moving. My items included: 14 medium totes 3 large totes 1 queen mattress 1 platform bed 1 couch 1 loveseat 1 8x10 area rug 3 tv’s (all boxed myself). All of this totaled $3099.25. DO NOT USE!!! I did not know they were a "broker". It wasn't disclosed on the site I reviewed, nor did Joe tell me that. I was being my own broker. When Always Moving came to get my items (in a Budget truck), I was surprised it wasn't Safeway. Also, Always didn't honor the quote I got from Safeway! My items weren't tagged on pick up, which is standard procedure. I had a box of designer bags, which was stolen. Tito of Always Moving said he doesn't tolerate thieves and that he would "make it right" - yeah, right - I haven't heard from him since. Safeway advertised using the fact it was "veteran owned". I used Safeway to get me from New Jersey to Florida and all I can say is what a fantastic job they did for me. They went above and beyond to make sure that my items got from point A to point B in a safe and expeditious manner. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who wants to move their belongings across the country.

Safeway handled a move for my grandmother! She has a tendency to worry but Safeway handled the move like a pro! Her items were delivered in the timeframe promised and they placed the furniture where she asked them too. If my grandma is happy.. I’m happy! Her salesperson Joseph Campbell went above and beyond to make sure my grandma was taken care of.

This company is Criminal! Absolute worst experience of my life and they STILL haven't delivered my things after taking possession of them on 10/26/20. I moved from Seattle, WA to Charlotte, NC and did a lot of research on a reputable moving company before making such a long distance relocation. The sales rep that handled my case and sold me on their company completely lied blew a bunch of smoke with false advertising and promises, and did not act with integrity. Not only does the company still have possession of all my things, they haven't even left Seattle after 2 MONTHS. They have insulted me, refuse to refund me any money or release my things so I can find someone else to deliver them... Read More

FRAUD WARNING!!! Do not use!! The company made an estimate on our move. We believe they intentionally misrepresented our inventory and underestimated the number of boxes so they could have a lower price than competing movers. They told us they believed the estimate was accurate and said it was binding not to exceed the price and told us we "wouldn’t pay a penny more unless [we] went out and bought five grand pianos.” We did not purchase or add any new items. I'm giving five stars to a moving company. Who could think this was possible? Moving companies are generally bad so my expectations were thus super low but with them iitr went all well and with a smooth process. So happy.
