Samuel went out of his way to recover a move I had made with a different broker. He took the time to research and communicate with me on what would be happening and how. If you want clear communication and trustworthy customer assistance go with safe ship moving and save yourself from the hassle a different broker could cause.
Safe Ship moving went above and beyond. They made sure my move was handled correctly.
Pro: Patrick, our initial contact, was the best salesperson I've encountered in many years--personable, listening to all our questions and worries, and very, very reassuring. Cons: Unfortunately, reality did not live up to his promises. The company he matched us with, Bentley Moving and Storage (based in CO), was horrible. The workers who picked up our things were polite and efficient, but they totally ignored all indications that some boxes were fragile, and the bill of lading was very marginally filled out. The fact that our load was taken from Albuquerque to Denver to be offloaded to a warehouse before then being loaded onto a truck for Boise turned out to be a big mistake in... Read More
I have a mixed review for Safe Ship: 1) For the most part, Safe Ship is good at keeping communication, which is the main issue that I've had in the past with other moving companies. Tom Keese and especially Gavin O'Malley were extremely helpful and responsive throughout the entire process. However, Wendy (I didn't get her last name) was extremely UNHELPFUL. At pickup, the movers were trying to add extra fees and said they wouldn't begin loading my stuff until I paid these fees, or until I got Safe Ship on the phone to tell them otherwise. I was put on hold for Wendy at customer service. She never picked up, never called me back, and after 1.5 hours of waiting, I caved in and ended up... Read More
They aren't a moving company. They give you a super high quote and talk about how they're the best of the best. They don't even know who is going to be moving you so all of their promises are sort of meaningless. They contract you out to whomever they can find. It doesn't matter what you count or how thorough you are in your initial inventory. You never see any exact counts, then when they do the "quality control" call, they act like you miscounted and have way more stuff and massively bump up the already high quote. They won't take credit cards because they don't want you to have any protections. They use fake "top ten lists" websites to advertise, but there are never any genuine positive... Read More
Move was ok. Ended up costing a little more because I brought more stuff. I realize interstate moving takes a while, took about 2 weeks for my stuff to get here
I have dealt with the incompetence and ignorance for months, hoping for some type of cooperation that would lead to the recovery of my stolen belongings. I have been very clear that I don't believe the lies that were told about the disappearance of my things. It makes no sense to me that my 30+ boxes were loaded on a truck in Florida and somehow were left with some stranger at a storage facility in Roxboro, NC and when a police officer showed up to check that storage unit for my things, it was empty. My things that were supposed to be delivered to in Memphis, TN have disappeared with some stranger who also can't be located by law enforcement! This makes no sense! Why would a complete... Read More
Watch their quotes it is about half the price as it will be when they start loading. They try to get the cheap movers tell you have to question them. They will not have your back when the movers show up and give you a different price. Use someone else.
Worse experience ever! I thought I was dealing with a reputable company but after they got their money (twice because the had to adjust for size of truck) I got no help whatsoever! Spoke to one customer service girl who was nice but can’t help me once my stuff was loaded. It’s now sitting in a warehouse and I have no definitive arrival date. I’m a senior citizen and my husband is a disabled vet. They don’t care. They got their substantial fee and that’s it. We have a blow up mattress and two folding chairs. Shame on them.
THE RATING IS FAKE -- DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY Absolutely terrible. Do not rely on the online ratings. After detailing all the items in my one bedroom apartment, I received an estimate and scheduled the service based on that estimate. I was moving 1500 miles away to a residential house. When the contracted movers arrived, they eyeballed the apartment, and increased my estimate by a couple hundred dollars. I accepted and signed their new estimate. Later, they realized they had forgotten some kind of bundling fee for my wooden furniture, which would result in a 33% increase in the total cost of the move - after I had signed.
