Oticon Additional Services

Features and Price - 4 / 5

Oticon hearing solutions are based on the company's BrainHearing™ philosophy. That means they have been designed to support your brain’s natural process of making sense of sound.

Neither device pricing nor shipping information is available on Oticon'a website, as customers deal directly with health care professionals to acquire their hearing aids. Because the company's risk-free trial is administered at the discretion of these third-party professionals, Oticon does not offer information on their site about trial periods, either.

Battery Life - 3.5 / 5

Since Oticon offers such a wide range of products, battery life, charging methods, and charging times vary. You can contact Oticon by email to inquire about battery life and other details for its hearing aids. You can also connect with an Oticon authorized distributor through the company's website.

Oticon After-Sale Service

Customer Experience - 4 / 5

Oticon has a short, 6 question quiz to evaluate customers' hearing capacity. The quiz is not very thorough, but it's enough to advise users whether it would be wise to consider a visit with a hearing professional.

We found that specific information on each of the company's products was a little difficult to locate. It's there—but you'll have to dig several pages deep to find it. Oticon's website could be improved with a single pull-down menu that lets customers explore their hearing aid options easily, as well as a feature comparison chart.
Warranty Length
2 years
Warranty Coverage
Oticon hearing devices are covered by a limited warranty issued by the manufacturer for a period of 2 years and come with a year of protection against loss and damage. This limited warranty covers manufacturing and material defects in the hearing device itself, but not accessories such as batteries, tubing, earwax filters, etc. Problems arising from improper handling or care, excessive use, accidents, repairs made by an unauthorized party, exposure to corrosive conditions, physical changes in your ear, damage due to foreign objects entering the device, or incorrect adjustments are NOT covered by the limited warranty and may void it. Added to this comprehensive Oticon factory warranty is "Precise Hearing." This program gives you 45 days from the date you purchase your hearing aids to return them. If for any reason, you decide to return the undamaged hearing aids during the money-back period, the company will return the total price. However, the free-trial offer is administered by the hearing clinics that actually sell Oticon products at their discretion.

Hearing aids never worked from day one, battery life was terrible, going through on average 1 battery every day, had disconnect issues with pairing clip... The memory suddenly wiped itself, so it refused to even do anything. Then out of the blue four years after purchasing it, the hearing aid died.

My More 2 aids are total crap. Children’s voices are shrill and piercing, only 20% understandable. The rest is gibberish. Dialogue in videos is almost complete gibberish, even worse than children’s voices. Soft spoken male voices are about 50% understandable. Some women’s voices are shrill and piercing. About the only time the aids work well is in a small group of women in a quiet setting. But I don’t need hearing aids in such a setting. Hearing aid technology needs to improve considerably to get up to mediocrity.

I have had my oticon opn minirites for 4 years and they have worked quite well. However, almost every time they put out a new version of the app OTICON ON, I have problems for 2 to 3 weeks connecting my hearing aids. They connect and drop off - repeatedly with absolutely no reason. I have contacted support and they told me the same thing that my hearing specialist said, upgrade the ios on the iphone, delete the app, turn off the phone, reinstall the app repair - I have done this over 20 times in the past week with absolutely no success. The last thing they told me to do is to disconnect all my network connections - since the hearing aids use bluetooth not network I am not sure what... Read More

I am very disappointed in the hearing aids. I had others and they were fairly good. Paid 6500 for the new ones. But the Oticon app sucks! I can'thear well with movies or music on my phone nor my ipad. Half the time, they don't pair. Actually went and bought airpods for my devices. Wow, such wonderful sound difference! What a shame!

My first pair lasted 7 years (Excellent). The second pair kept eating batteries. They were replaced 2xs without success, each time a trip to the office to drop them off, wait a week and go back again to pick up. I hated throwing $4K down the drain as they are useless. I refused to keep going back to the overpaid audiologist's office, wait 2 weeks for a new pair, and repeat that trip several times. Bought a pair on Amazon for 1/8 the price. No issues at all.

I have been dissatisfied with my hearing aids since day one . I purchased them in July 2019 to the tune of $7,300. I had difficulty keeping them in the ears, poor sound quality. I have been back for adjustments. Then Covid hit and stores were closed several months, i recently wore them out to dinner. One fell out and I wasn’t aware of it until I left the restaurant. The restaurant searched and i retraced my steps. Couldn’t find it. 😂😂 Now I have to purchase a new set.

Oticon makes new hardware which is incompatible with older devices. This policy of making things obsolete is not only frustrating, it is immoral as clients must upgrade. I bought the TV adapter 3.0 and it would not pair with my Streamer pro. After frustration and searches, no explanation is found. I made an appointment with an audiologist who finally found my Streamer Pro was obsolete. This is the third time and the Streamers are not cheap. We found that i must must return the TV adapter for version 2.0. NO EXPLANATIONS WERE FOUND. Unacceptable. Huge waste of time. Smarten up Octicon!

I have been using the the Oticon OPN 3 miniRite T hearing aid since 10/11/18. My issue with them is that they are not proving to be reliable. Every 1 to 1-1/2 years I get the dreaded 8 beeps repeated 4 times warning which indicates a problem with the microphone. When that happens it takes 2 to 2-1/2 weeks for Oticon to service them. The first time that happened, they replace both hearing aids with supposedly new ones. It just happened again, I'll find out in a couple of weeks as to what they do to fix it. I have no idea if this is normal, but I expect them to be able to last longer. They are under warranty so it not going to cost me anything to get them fixed, but when the 4 year... Read More

I received the Opticon S1 thru the VA on 3/20/2020. Since then I have been able to use them for less than an hour. Problem #1. does not fit my ears. they seem to extend into the ear deeper than my 6 yr old Opticon aids which I have used day to day. #2 . Static in my left ear and lighter static in the right. With volume low enough to stop static, no amplification. #3 . Static in right ear cuts in and out with head movement.

I agree with comments here on service and support. The aids work well. Their app for the aids I spent $5000 on (Jan 2019) no longer works now, 1.5 years later (July 2020). Really? Bogus. The microphone in the ComPilot is hypersensitive and gives listeners my shirt, my heart beat, my breathing and footsteps, as well as any potato chip bags being opened. Just too sensitive in picking up background (?) noise. Oticon clearly, in retrospect, must have a filter in the software to filter those out. Given the purchase for $5k for a pair, I would go back to Oticon if I could.
