Overall Rating: 7.9 / 10 (Very good)

Oticon is one of the strongest competitors in the hearing care industry due to its remarkably broad offering of hearing aid types and features. The technology used in their devices and accessories is some of the most advanced and provides users a large degree of customization and comfortability. Their price range and educational write-ups are a great help for potential customers looking to inform themselves before making a final decision. Moreover, Oticon has a solid reputation and has more detailed information about their warranty and trial policies than other hearing aid companies.

Oticon Product Offerings

Product Offerings - 9 / 10

Out of all the companies we reviewed, Oticon had one of the widest range of products and options. They have seven hearing aid models currently being manufactured, and dozen of older legacy products. Their current hearing aids use cutting-edge technology to provide tinnitus relief, catch high frequency sounds like "s" and "sh," and boost softer speech, among many other sought-after features. Their product preview lets users see how the device looks like on different people, and offers their seven models in the widest range of styles, such as MIC, CROS, and RITE, among competitors. In addition, a number of wireless accessories and a convenient mobile app further enhance user experience.

Oticon Additional Services

Additional Services - 8 / 10

Oticon has a short, 6 question quiz to evaluate customers' hearing capacity. The quiz is not very thorough, but it's enough to inform users whether they should visit a hearing professional or not. Shipping information is not available on their website, as they deal directly with health care professionals. Because their risk free trial is administered at the discretion of these third-party professionals, they do not offer information on their site about trial periods either.

Oticon Pricing

Pricing - 7 / 10

Oticon's most budget friendly option that is currently being manufactured is about $1,599. Some of their legacy products might run for a lower price, so customers should consult their hearing professional to choose something that will fit their budget but is also worth the investment.

Oticon After-Sale Service

After-Sale Service - 8 / 10

Oticon hearing devices are covered by a limited warranty issued by the manufacturer for a period of 2 years and 1 year loss and damage. This limited warranty covers manufacturing and material defects in the hearing device itself, but not accessories such as batteries, tubing, earwax filters, etc.

Problems arising from improper handling or care, excessive use, accidents, repairs made by an unauthorized party, exposure to corrosive conditions, physical changes in your ear, damage due to foreign objects entering device, or incorrect adjustments are NOT covered by the limited warranty and may void it.

Added to this comprehensive Oticon factory warranty is "Precise Hearing." This program gives you 45 days from the date you purchase your hearing aids to return them. If, for any reason, you decide to return the undamaged hearing aids during the money back period, the company will return the total price.

You should have a call in number for support. Your product manuals do not even touch all the variables and trouble shooting is very minimal. For something billed at 8200 dollars you should be able to get tech support.

Was content with my oticon hearing aid till just after the warranty ended. Volume control on right device stopped working followed by the left a month later. Cost for repair is $350 each. Strange that the devices malfunction as soon as warranty runs out. Is it just a coincidence???
