Eargo hearing aids help wearers process and understand speech more clearly, amplifying mid and high auditory frequencies. The company's products were designed by an ENT surgeon with more than thirty years' experience in the field with thousands of patients. Products were subsequently tested by audiologists and hearing professionals before being put into production. Since wearers generally need time to readjust to the hearing audio frequencies they may have missed for years--similar to how eyes adjust to glasses or contacts--Eargo has built a team of licensed personal hearing professionals to help each client through this process.

Eargo Product Offerings

Hearing Aid Style - 4.5 / 5

Eargo devices are extremely discreet. They're so invisible, you truly have to look very closely to see the tiny black end of their hearing aids. Eargo is also very attentive to comfort. Their patented Flexis, made from medical-grade silicone, help their devices rest comfortably in the ear and allows natural, ambient-lost frequencies to pass through into the eardrum. Eargo's least expensive product, the Max, was named one of Time Magazine's Best Inventions of 2018. The device also won the Gold Clio and Red Dot awards for Product Design and was touted as 'a new breed of tech company' by the New York Times.

The company's newest product is the Eargo 6 with Sound Adjust, which automatically optimizes the soundscape as you move between environments. The Eargo 6 is water-resistant for up to 30 minutes at a water depth of less than one meter, and features patented, medical-grade, silicone petal tips that come in two sizes and two styles. The Eargo 6 is competitively priced when compared to traditional hearing aids at $2,950 for a pair of devices. It recharges in just 4 hours, after which it provides 16 hours of continuous use. All of Eargo's products are distinguished by excellent on-demand support from hearing professionals for as long as you use your device.

Eargo kits come with left and right devices, two sizes of Flexis (regular and large), charger units, cleaning tools, and more. Every purchase comes with free lifetime support.

Every Eargo customer is assigned a licensed hearing professional for assistance after receiving the device. Customers are then able to book an introductory call and subsequent support calls as needed until they feel comfortable using the device. Eargo offers two types of warranties that come standard with its products. There is a 12 or 24-month manufacturer warranty that covers manufacturing defects. This will be void if the wearer modifies or damages the unit(s). Eargo also includes an uncommon loss & damage warranty which will cover devices that are lost or damaged beyond repair. In such cases, the company will send you replacements at a discounted rate.

Eargo's website also features live chat, an extensive FAQ section, and a library of videos where customers can learn more about the company's hearing aid technology.

Ok, I have had my Eargos for 3.5 week here is what i think for anyone interested in getting them. 1. They are comfortable. It takes some time to get used to them, and it can make your ears itchy. This will fade.. 2. They do an adequate job. They do sound a little off sometimes and can almost sound like there is a small echo. It isn't very bad and doesn't seem to happen all the time. 3. The charger drives me nuts. I clean it every night and I still have to take the eargos in and out of the charger at least 1/2 dozen times or more to get them to connect to the charger correctly. 4. Today, 3.5 weeks in, the right eargo has stopped working. There is no amplification at... Read More

Hi Donald. I apologize that we never responded when you posted last year. I see that we replaced your original set of Eargo Neo hearing aids with a new set and that you have kept the devices. I hope everything is working to your satisfaction. Since the original mobile app debuted over a year ago, we have had several upgrades allowing for more customization of the hearing aids. Also, our team of licensed hearing professionals have many more remote fine-tuning options at their disposal to help clients maximize their use of Eargo hearing aids. If there are ever any questions, please call us at 800-615-9000 or email us support@eargo.com.

I have been using my Eargo hearing aids for a few months. The only problem I have had is when I pat my ear to adjust the volume my wife immediately says, "are you turning me up or down". I responded, "I always always turn you up!" Problem solved. I hear birds now. When I go into places where sound is already amplified such as church or a speaker \ presenter using a microphone I take my Eargo's out because even at level one amplification it is really loud.

We offer a range of pricing options for our hearing aids, starting as low as $1,650 for Eargo Plus. Eargo Neo, which features our best noise reduction, our best feedback cancellation, and added stable gain costs $2,750. Eargo costs about 52% less than the average, traditional hearing aid. You can learn more about our low-cost financing options, starting at $77 a month for 24 months, at shop.eargo.com. We also suggest clients check with their insurance provider to see if their plan offers any coverage for hearing aids (if it does, our audiologists are happy to complete a superbill on their behalf). Some organizations that may be able to provide additional assistance obtaining hearing aids are your local Lions Club, United Way Speech and Hearing Centers, as well as Better Hearing Institute’s AUDIENT program. We often point clients here if we’re unable to help. Please call our Personal Hearing Guides with questions at 1-800-375-8058.

Under the above paragraph of "Ergo Product Offerings" you list Bluetooth and Internet Connectivity. That's not so - these "in the ear" units have neither capability! The charging unit does not aid in the hearing capability, only recharges the batteries in the units. Please make this limitation known so that there is no confusion with larger behind-the-ear units.

I love the whole concept, and got the non-working try out pair to check for comfort. I was so disappointed that my small, bent canal couldn't handle this device. I just could not get it in. If I could have made it work I would have. The phone support was fantastic. This is a well designed product that I wish I could use!

Beware! I paid $2400 for a pair of Eargo's in November 2018, lost one, and the replacement cost is $395!! Now they're being advertised for $1400. Shocked, I asked about refurbished ones, NO. After calling several times to complain the Employee would say "I'll have my supervisor contact you". Most never did contact me, only one emailed, but didn't respond to my return email. Eargo doesn't offer its customers an insurance policy, even though the size is so small, the hearing aid is at risk of loss. Eargo's Customer Care is daunting. After such toxic treatment by Eargo, I can no longer encourage my friends, co-workers, and family to do business with Eargo. I feel ripped off.

Thank you for your comment, Arden. We apologize about the game of phone tag you played with our team. While we advertised Eargo Plus for $1,450 for a short time it looks like you had originally purchased Eargo Max, which is a more expensive device, though you did receive a $400 refund after your purchase as part of a Black Friday promotion we were running at the time. As part of our warranty, Eargo will replace a lost or damaged hearing device for $395 each and a lost or damaged charger. Here’s more on our warranty: https://eargo.com/misc/warranty, and please reach out to us at social@eargo.com with any questions. We’ll be happy to directly connect you with someone who will be able to assist.

I am currently wearing a set of Phonak battery-operated hearing aids (second set) for high-frequency loss, purchased at Costco for $2400. What I like is the computerized "fit" offered locally and the service provided, also locally. What I dislike is the fact that when turned up in a restaurant, I hear increased background noise, rather than conversation and the fact that the transmitters often fall out of the canal, despite "guards." I have interest in trying out eargo's aids but retain hesitancy based upon reviews.

Hi Alan, thank you for your interest in our modern hearing aids. We suggest new-to-Eargo clients try our free sample kit to get an understanding of the fit and feel of our devices. After requesting the sample kit, you'll receive a call from one of our personal hearing guides to discuss your level of hearing loss, as Eargo was designed for those with mild to moderate hearing loss. You can request your non-working sample kit today from try.eargo.com, or call us with any questions at 1-800-375-8058. We’re all ears!
