DO NOT PAY ANYTHING TO THIS COMPANY!! They are misleading at best.
I opened a free acct with them to check my credit each year. They sell your phone number and address to every predator out there. I ve been receiving a call per hr since opening the acct. I had to get google phone app to screen calls. The callers are scammy. What kills me is that experian is fighting scam and fraud, yet they sell your info to every telemarketing fraudulent scum out there.
I cant get the acct closed
I read an earlier comment the the email for the Experian email for the account had been changed but they did not change it. I have had the same experience and it is because the security for Experian is lax. They are easily hacked and once the bad guy has modified you account it opens the door for exploitation of your credit. The Experian security is lax. Accounts can be easily hacked and exploited. So be aware of exploitation and freeze the account. This is a free service. But because they are so venerable to hacking the information is nonsense. Also the hackers know how easy it is to hack their system , they use it to defraud consumers. Beware of the this consumer credit agency. Until... Read More
I received an email from experian support stating the email address on my account had been changed. I did not change it. I was also unable to access the account. I immediately tried to contact Experian. Apparently immediate is not something they do. The best I could do was send an email to their support. Two days later I received a response from their support stating the account was locked with instructions to snail mail copies of documents to their office. Did this twice with no response twice.
I make use of experian to check my credit scores and it's okay. I used CreditMason to permanently remove the delinquencies on my credit report and that had a huge impact on my credit score positively, you can look up the company on google if your credit needs some improvement. Their credit restoration process is effective and reliable.
There is absolutely no information on how I can screen my tenant.
All Im looking for is to submit the application form and get back results
I have just about had it with credit reports and credit scores. My score has gone down if I obtained credit. My score has gone down down for using credit. AND my score went down because I was NOT using credit (yes -- they actually told me that). Beyond lame. When my credit score increases, the occasion is like the outcome of some magic trick or a random, divine intervention. I have no idea why it increases Typically, it increases in increments of just a few points. When it has dropped, on the other hand, the decrease is always between 25 - 44 points. Outrageously ridiculous. My credit has been immaculate for years -- I should be (and should remain) at... Read More
How did you come up with the 4.5 rating??? This company is supposed to protect its customers from credit fraud. Yet, Experian systems allowed a potentially fraudulent transaction to execute inside their own systems without warning or alerts. someone else's payment for a credit report, with completely different name and address, was charged to my credit card on file, all while telling me the card is invalid and membership fees cannot be charged to it. To add insult to injury, the card in question is listed by for monitoring for any suspicious activities. There is a final straw. When I contested the charge, Experian customer service uncovered the problem, and I asked about refunding the... Read More
Worst company ever. I have been trying to reach a real person for 2 days. I have tried every number listed and only get recording that eventually hang up. For a major credit reporting company they are virtually impossible to reach. There is a problem.
