Beware of the warranty racket and high rates. Tech came out, had the part on truck repaired refrig in less than an hour. Charge was >$400 dollars unless you sign up for warranty at $50 month, then $248. Warranty covers all appliances in home so I signed up. There was a problem with their system accepting my check so I had to give them a debit card- they don't take AMX. Fortunately there ended up being a routing number problem so they don't have access for other charges. Later in week the repair part arrives in the mail. The return past number did not work. Many phone numbers/calls later I never get an answer as to what to do with this part and was I charged for it. I will continue... Read More

Since October 2021, I am trying to fix my LG fridge, first I called Sears because it was a name that I trusted, the tech guy came and gave a diagnostic that I need a new ice maker, also he offered the Sears plan that I could fix up to 11 appliance in my home, I decided to buy the plan, when he came back to replace the ice make he broke another part of my fridge, than my nightmare started. Since this day they already sent 4 tech to my home and nothing was resolved. Last month a guy name Dave came he said he was the supervisor and he was there to give me a definition, after he checked everything he told me that Sears was going to replace my fridge and that I was going to receive a call to... My washer was defective and it took 8 tech visits and multiple ordered wrong parts. Finally the last tech fixed it in 15 minutes with none of the wrong ordered parts. I have been told numerous times over this last month that UPS would be contacting me to pick up the parts. Never happened. and I still get "we will contact you in 72 hours".....the third "maybe response" is coming in the next three days....this is the third time....If this doesn't happen this time I will escalate this legally against sears service.....

I am not one to generally do a review. However, Sears' customer service was so extraordinarily poor for my situation that I feel compelled to warn others so they do not have to deal with the frustration I have gone through. I purchased a Kenmore Refrigerator 8 years ago. Just a few weeks ago, the 3rd compressor for this fridge went out. It is still under warranty for parts but not labor. When I called I was told I had to pay a diagnostic fee of $182.94 which I did not want to do as I knew it was the compressor. But to initiate the claim I was forced to pay this. I was also quoted an estimate of $400 or less for parts. When the technician arrived he confirmed it was the... Read More

Terrible experience. All I needed was a dryer heating element replaced on our 10 year old Kenmore dryer. I was charged $175 for a part that I can buy on Amazon for $58. I was charged $250 for less than an hour of labor. Heck of a business model. Gouge your life-long customers until they never want to do business with you again. Goodbye, Sears, you deserve to go out of business….

Bought a $3024.30 refrigerator 4 years ago. Called for service and was given an appointment date of 1/18/22. Sears delayed the appointment to 1/20/22. Technician arrived and evaluated all parts, placed the order and advised of labor fee since all parts were under manufacturer warranty. Was given another appointment date of 2/3/22 for completion of repair. Parts arrived at my home on 1/26/22. Morning of 2/3/22 the technician arrived and replaced 2 parts, but apparently not all parts ordered and advised to not put food in for 24 hours. My account was charged $455.86, for which I never signed for. Later in the afternoon I checked to see if it was working. The freezer was cold but the... Read More

I don't know how this website gives SHS a 4.7 review. All the reviews below confirm mine, that the service is awful. I hired them for a dishwasher repair. A guy showed up, ordered a part, it came, and no one has shown up for weeks despite three appointments made. Our first mistake was hiring this service, the second was paying in full. DO NOT HIRE THIS SERVICE. I have to push a star, but really, my review is 0.

I have been battling with Sears to get my fridge repaired since 11/21. I keep setting up appointments and they put on the appointment that I have the Sears Home Warranty WHICH I DO NOT! So they have to cancel the appointment and and set up a new one without the home warranty. Of course it's a later date. Finally I got to reschedule for today 10-2 and I was just informed at 11:55 that the tech called in sick so I have to reschedule. Now I have to wait, without a fridge, til Dec 16th. This is ridiculous!

Sears and Kenmore do not back their products this is the 2nd Kenmore washer I have had that has not had a long life. Last one I had purchased the extended warranty and the cost of the repair in 2017 was 515.87 which only lasted a year before I purchased a new machine in 2018. I live in a household of 2 people and the issue is not any type of abuse the loads are never full and in fact the repairman I had look at it said to tech support he could tell that it had not been used hard. I have tried talking with customer service been on numerous calls and numbers trying to get some answers. I had a repairman diagnose my 3 year old washer and with tech support and the computer could not find an... Read More

Much as I would like to use SHS for further work that needs to be done, SHS will be the last company I contact. The technician was personable, efficient, effective... the cost was ridiculous. Labor for installing a part that took 30-40 minutes to diagnose and install was $240. As much as I like the service itself, the cost was excessive. My own fault for just hearing the overall cost and not realizing how it was split between the part that needed to be replaced and the labor to install it.
