Don’t expect any customer service with Morgan & White Group. Can’t set up an account to update payment method, cannot get office on the phone because they close on Thursday, which is odd. VSP can’t help since they don’t process monthly payments. This is a major problem for clients.

tl;dr: 1. The provided lens quality (made by VSP's own lab) is extremely poor and *unusable*, I have a 70$ pair (frames + lenses) that is much better. I have two pairs worth 800$ from VSP that I just can't use. 2. Customer service is ignoring and tries to wear you out. Poor quality lenses: So a few weeks ago I got two pairs of glasses through one of VSP providers. I added 30$ per pair, to improve the lenses to a superior type. Both pairs are unusable - there is a very bad reflection issue with the glasses, every light in the room or the street is reflected on the lenses. Crossing the street at night using those glasses is a just a visual show of a million lights reflecting from... Read More

Nothing more than a "discount card". You are better off saving your monthly payment towards your new glasses and then going anywhere you want to buy them as their "allowances" are so low that unless you want to get a pair of garbage glasses you will have to pay extra on top of your monthly premiums. At the end of the day, your premiums plus the pitiful allowance amount, you end up with a very expensive pair of low quality glasses.

I'm very disappointed in VSP. I recently had cataract surgery and no longer need eye glass insurance, however, VSP will not cancel my insurance until next enrollment period - 10 months from now. Therefore, I have to continue paying $15 per month for nothing. The VSP agents told me that Cal PERS is the agency to speak with and Cal PERS tells me that it's VSP. I can't believe that VSP has a policy that can't be canceled when one's life has changed. I asked VSP if I die, does my beneficiary has to continue to pay until the open enrollment period and VSP says no. Well I don't see any difference except that it is a poor policy. I will never recommend VSP.

11/8/19 Called to try to find out information, spoke with a fellow named David who was not helpful at all - couldn't answer why the big premium difference in one state versus another for the same plan. He couldn't (or wouldn't answer a basic question of "why is there a $50.00 premium difference" - again, could not answer a simple question. Now I wanted to speak to someone who could answer - so David tried transferring - instead I got some automated voice system - NOT HELPFUL AT ALL - and then disconnected. It seems the purpose of the call reps are to take your money but not be able to answer questions. And you are not given the option of paying monthly - instead they want you account... Read More

I tried to reach customer service because I spent over 4 hours at the eye doctor trying to figure out why my standard glasses weren't being covered. VSP was not available and this morning still not available even though well within their "customer service email hours". Even the screen shot I saved said the hours were within the time I was submitting. VSP Is horrible do not use this company.

Took 5 1/2 months to get a pair of sunglasses made through VSPs Lab. 3 times their representative told me it was the stores fault. 3 times the VSP support managers then confirmed after the store called them that it was in fact the labs fault. They cut the lenses to the wrong prescription multiple times, applied the wrong coatings, damaged the frame, shipped finished lenses with fingerprints baked into the coating, and shipped lenses with tool markings and or watermarks in the lenses. Had to fight to get them to allow a non VSP lab to cut the lense and still be covered under insurance. New lab got it right the first time.
