This is one of those outfits that will aggressively raise your rates. Charge whole month even if you move out on 4th of month. I would never, ever, ever recommend storage sense as either short or long term. Forget their presentation on their website, nor take their self controlled reviews seriously. Who praises a tin locker experience such as seen on their website. Nobody that's who. Find one of the many available storage options as I should have.
I became displaced after car accident in October 2021 and had to get a storage facility that storage sense acquired afterwards. Being displaced I’ve been in 6 different locations staying with family, friends and room rentals. I’m close to 60 disabled and displaced until I closed on home July 27. I cleared out unit July 31 finding years of rodent infestation in everything!! I get a denial from insurance adjuster because I put canned food and food I canned in as well as a box with sealed envelopes of sweet potatoes, tea bags and oatmeal packages just before I came to Virginia to purchase house. From May 1 to July 31 these mice did almost 2 years damage in the thousands??!! BS I told... Read More
I had my items in storage in the Bethlehem location (near Hellertown) and my items got damaged from condensation/moisture that got into the unit. I had been there on many occasions, and this just happened all of a sudden after being fine for 2 years. My insurance will not cover the damage as it was an issue with the unit that Storage Sense should have covered. I reported it right away. Everything was full of mold and mildew smelling. I talked with the manager and district manager who wouldn't help. They told me I should have had their insurance, but when my insurance company asked for a copy, they didn't have insurance, they had an add on to their rental property that cost a... Read More
Storage Asset Management doing business as "Storage Sense" are aggressive practitioners of raising rental rates.
BEWARE: They DO NOT secure the Naples, Florida facility and the property manager has unethical business practices. This Naples Storage Sense location was illegally withholding access to MY PAID STORAGE UNIT to purposely delay me from removing my items until tomorrow which is the 1st adding an additional full month of rent is due since rent is not prorated. THIS IS FRAUD! I arrived today 7/31/22 to move my items out of my storage unit and my access code didn't work. I was on the phone for over an hour with 3 different reps while waiting 2 hours outside in the hot sun WITH movers who were being paid by the hour! (You owe me for their time.) I have had a temperature controlled unit for the last 5 or 6 years on Dyess Parkway, Grovetown, Ga. I paid my rent before the due date without fail. A couple months ago Storage sense took over this business. I only go there once in a while, but when I went there last week, all the outside security doors have had their keyed entry guts removed, and the doors are just blowing in the wind. When I asked why, I was told there was nothing in the contract that says they are required to have keyed security doors. When I first rented a 10x10 unit from this place it was called Hollywood Self Storage. They sold out to Storage Sense. I'd been storing my items for around 4 years and got in a bind due to my health. When I was only 20 days past due, and always on time with payments, I was locked out of the gate and charged a $30 late fee. I was still in the current month that I owed for. I understand late fees but by the 31st of the current month, they charged me an $85 charge on top of the late fee for a Lean and a cut lock fee. I was threatened with losing everything I own (keep in mind, I only owed for the current month and not any months prior). They also tacked on three "lein notice fees" of $50... Read More
