Litigation & Regulatory Actions

In 2013, the District of New Jersey approved a $5.08 million settlement in a class-action lawsuit against Extra Space Storage Inc. Mr. Steven Gnomes was the individual who filed the lawsuit against the company due to them selling his stored property in an auction before the deadline they had initially given him to pay his delinquent rent. The class-action suit allegedly involved nearly 155,000 Extra Space customers.

This is by far, the worst experience I have had in renting. 4 months after renting the 2 units, my rent was increased 80% with a 2 week notice. I moved out of 1 unit today and have 2 weeks prepaid left. I was assured when I rented that if I left early that I would be refunded any monies owed. The tune changes today. I am out, and the intent is to re-rent my unit and double collect on rent for the company. I have complained at the site and contacted the home office to complain. If I get no answers, I will file with the BBB in Austin, Texas where I am located. The site I used was in Manor, Tx on Harris Branch Parkway. Beware.
