Horrible service,Horrible customer service with too much deception and dishonesty. Never recommending this company to anyone,would surely never use again. Stay away from Pack Rat at all cost,nothing but stress!!
The ONLY thing done on time was to take their payment. Our initial delivery on# 1) June14th didn't show until June 15th, though we had recieved a call telling us we were on the schedule for June 14th. The pick up of full pod on the 17th #2) shorted us a day to load it all and very stressful. We moved out of state and scheduled for June 27th as delivery. I recieved a call saying the pod was in the facility in Bridgeton, Mo and was on schedule for the #3) 28th-or 29th. Did not come on 28th and no call to us to inform us of any change, but they said either ..ok we wait. They are the worst! Paid extra for an AM delivery. It did not show in the AM so I called was assured the driver was going to call me and they graciously gave me the extra for the AM delivery back. Well called again and they are not even coming at all. So here sits all my items in the pouring rain! They do NOT care that I took off work and waited and hired people to move these items so they could be placed into the container as soon as it arrived. They told me to go put a tarp over it. They had my phone number they NEVER called me to even say they were having problems now they say it will be delivered tomorrow. BEWARE!!!!!
Pack rat does a bait and switch. Their website states an 8 ft pod is $189/month plus $84 delivery. We were supposed to get $100 off the first month. Something doesn’t add up. They sent us an email that at delivery it would be $243.88 and each month after $260.85. They then told me it was $229/month. The fee still doesn’t add up because taxes aren’t $30/month. They are SCAMMING their customers!!!! I canceled.
Horrible. Kept changing my delivery date, no communication, corporate didn’t seem to care. F-
Missed delivery date no call no show. When I called to find out what happened I was told I would get calls back. Not once did they call back after I had to follow up 3 more times. Horrible customer service, horrible delivery, not sure about the product as we never got it, was bad enough dealing with the company.
Update: "Social media resolution team" followed up but unfortunately issue was not resolved. They said the warehouses had no official record of changing the lock. Apparently a couple calls constitutes an investigation and if its not written down - nothing could have happened. They kept saying "no evidence", "unfortunately, there is nothing else we can do" and "no one else I could speak to", and "max we could do" is to hire a locksmith and submit a claim for reimbursement. They asked for my pictures and refused to acknowledge the difference in before and after pictures. Warning on using pack rat. They had REMOVED my prior lock (you would have to drill/cut it without the key) and CHANGED to a (same type but) different lock w/o my permission and never told me. I did a long distance move and storage Sacramento to Seattle. After my pod was delivered - when I tried to open the lock, key wouldn't fit. After trying to figure out why - i noticed from pictures I took that the lock is DIFFERENT. It was in a different location and facing the other direction than when I had it picked up (confirmed of course its the same pod container). We packed our Pack Rat storage containers/units, three of them, and had no problem with them picking them up in Larkspur, CO. We told them we would be storing our stuff at least a year, probably more, while we travel the nation; then we'd be relocating to the Pacific Northwest sometime in 2021. We were not warned that they had limited delivery in the PNW. Here we are in Eugene, Oregon 22 months after leaving Colorado, and we called to get our three storage containers delivered only to be told they don't deliver here, but we can go unpack the units 130 miles away. Eugene is Oregon's third largest metropolitan area. It is not unreasonable to expect them delivered to our home. We paid $6700... Read More
This company fails to explain the additional costs of storage and fuel surcharge. The original quote will be low but beware of the hidden charges and fees. We have yet to see if they will deliver our pods on time and when we requested.
