EnergySage also provides past customer reviews associated with the ESS or PV System Providers; however, you can not access these Reviews directly from EnergySage. Instead you must do a search within your Web Browser for (as an example "solarunion review by energysage" or "energysage review solarunion". At any rate, it is too bad EnergySage does not contain a direct link within their webpages for each representative Solar Provider. EnergySage should also provide, at the very least, a "check box" selections for a response to the consumer if their desired system is a "stand alone, (not tied to electric utility), "grid tied to the electric for Net Zero" or "grid tied to the electric utility... EnergySage is a decent utility/ clearing house for gathering quotes from different solar providers in your area. You answer some basic questions about your home and energy usage and their online tool figures out how much solar power you need to generate to meet your needs. That's pretty straightforward. My main complaint with EnergySage is they limit you to two providers. ONLY TWO. When considering a $20,000+ outlay for my home, I need to gather as much information as possible from MULTIPLE providers and TWO price quotes is NOT SUFFICIENT. EnergySage should provide at least 3 or 4 quotes/ providers. The fact that EnergySage limited me to two was a real bummer and my reason for NOT... Read More

I talked to over 8 different Solar Companies, I won't bore you with how bad most of them are. I will tell you that LA Solar is a straight shooter. If they tell you something you can believe it. Their prices are very competitive and they communicate with you daily. If I was smart I would have gone with LA Solar over two weeks ago instead of thinking that there was something better out there. Believe me, there isn't. I live in Rancho Bernardo and I cannot wait to have freedom from the utility company. You will probably talk to John Henry and Mary and they are wonderful. Their is no excuse not to go solar. LA Solar has so many plans to fit every pocket book. Pat Mallory

Thee *is* a lot of good information about solar power in one place, so you don't have to rooting around the internet, looking at different websites to educate yourself. However, they need to state more clearly UPFRONT that the solar installers they send your way must quote for "grid-tied" installations ONLY. I didn't know this until I'd talked to all four (who responded to my posting a LONG time later) and given them my information on the promise of call-backs that never came. So if you know you need off-grid installations, you're better off just using EnergySage for background research, then shop around for a local solar contractor yourself. You'll save time and frustration that way.... Read More

Energy Sage made the entire process of going solar incredibly easy and user friendly, from inputting basic property details to getting multiple quotes from reputable contractors for reasonable prices. The first solar company I contacted before learning about Energy Sage was going to charge over $18k for a small 2.5 kW system. Ended up at $6.6k through Energy Sage. Highly recommend!
