I filed a claim with good sam on my travel trailer and they flat out denied it after the adjuster they sent out said it would be fixed. The repair shop said that they have had nothing but problems with good sam and would no longer be accepting work from them due to the way they treat their costomers as well as the repair shop. Mine was 1 of many problems that they have had to deal with thru good sam. NOT SO GOOD! Going to have to go to court to get resolved!?

Roadside Assist is a joke. The air brakes went out in my 44 ft diesel pusher motorhome. I had just stayed a couple of nights in a very full RV park. When I started out in the morning, something blew and all my air pressure went to 0. My brakes automatically locked. My air bags deflated. I called Good Sam Roadside Service expecting to get a tow to a Freightliner service center for brake repair. That did not happen. First I talked to Diamond. She was ordered by the in house RV Tech to secure a mobile service to come fix my coach. Diamond called me several hours later, telling me she was having problems finding a mobile service that could or would come and at least look at the coach.... Read More

I have never slammed a company but I will give my review on Good Sam Insurance/National General. They denied my using my repair company even when I gave them all the repair companies labor rates. They didn't want to let me use the company because they would not reduce the repair. When I went to the suggested companies they told me that the labor cost was one thing for me personally and for the National General/Good Sam a lower rate. I took me getting my attorney involved before I could get them to agree. They also told me it would only be a one time deal. We will not work with them again. Hope you ask a lot of questions before you trust them. the rating should be 0. Someone needs... Read More

Good Sam RV Insurance review BULL CRAP!!!!!! I gave it a one star only because I could not put ZERO stars!!! EVERY repair center said Oh MY GOD, that is the worst insurance and they will deny coverage. YEP, they were right!!! If insurance cost you 10 times as much it would still be worth getting it somewhere else. This insurance SUCKS!! They happily excepted my payments for years and then when I do need it, it is turned down. HEED THE WARNINGS. Don't just believe me, search some real reviews and call repair centers(not camping world) and ask them about National General, they will tell you. I have learned the hard way. I JUST CAN'T BELIEVE GOOD SAM WOULD RUIN THEIR NAME WITH THIS JUNK!!!

I have National General insurance through Good Sam. That's why I'm at this site looking for something better! We had a tire blow-out last year, which damaged the wheel well. We got it towed to our RV dealer using AAA. But the dealer couldn't do that repair, suggested an actual RV repair shop. National General said sure, go ahead, and that they would get it towed. Weeks later, after going through Good Sam to complain, they FINALLY got it towed. Then they took over a month to reply to the repair shop, and did not even due that until I called several times. And then to finish, they delayed the delivery by a month by not getting back to the repair shop to authorize the final... Read More

This insurance co. is a big rip off, I got a claim went to their preferred repair shop for a quote after 2 weeks called them and they said the quote wasn't ready I asked when will it be ready they said they didn't know it takes time. I got a quote from Lackeys RV service for 5,884.00, Sent it along with pictures to national general as they requested they said they had no adjuster in Alabama I made emergency repairs and returned to the Chicago area they sent a check for 671.87 + 500.00 deductible total of 1,171.87 $4712.63 short of the estimate . I complained they sent another check for 1996.16 still $2716.47 short of the estimate I called back and complained and asked them to send a... Read More

Do not recommend the hype of this company! Their performance stinks. We got stuck on I-75 four miles north of Wildwood, Fl. Sunday at 4 pm. Calling Good Guy Sam was like calling a "nonexistent service". "We are sorry but there's nothing we can do for you. There is no tow truck or no service vehicle that we can send out. Try to get your vehicle to a truck stop and maybe we can help you." We could not move our vehicle. THIS MEMBERSHIP IS A RIP OFF!

"Good Sam Insurance is National General Insurance " 2nd Year without any claims or accidents and increased and yearly premium increased 35%.. The customer service reason is that it was its yearly company correction. So did everyone that had a auto policy in the US get a 35% increase also?

WE HAVE HAD GOOD SAM FOR A SHORT TIME, WHILE COMING HOME FROM A CAMPING TRIP WE HAD A WHEEL PROBLEM, PULLED OVER AND FOUND OUT THE HUBCAP WAS MISSING ON THE BACK REAR TIRE ALONG WITH THE CAP, NUT AND OUTSIDE BERING , CALLED THE SERVICE DEPT. THEY CALLED SOME IDIOT WHO DID NOT SHOW UP FOR OVER TWO HOURS, SITTING ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD IN 90 DEGREE FLA. SUN. I HAD TALKED TO THE MOBILE MECHANIC BY PH: ABOUT AN HOUR INTO THIS EVENT AND TOLD HIM WHAT WAS MISSING ETC. WHEN HE ARRIVED IN A BEATUP OLD SUV{WORK VEHICLE} HE DID NOT HAVE THE PROPER WASHER TO HOLD ON THE NEW BERINGS INSTALLED OR A CAP TO HOLD THE GREASE IN. I PERSONALLY HAD TO WIRE THE NUT WITH SOME WIRE I FOUND IN THE TRAILER SO IT... Read More

Electronic brakes stopped working on our camping trailer. Good Sam Roadside Insurance sent out a technician who had never worked on a camper. After 2 hours, he gave up. We asked to have it towed to a dealer 17mi away. Good Sam refused & wants to send out another technician. What a rip off, we foolishly have been traveling around the country, paying for insurance that does absolutely nothing. Do not get involved with Good Sam!

Cons: Not anyway near the cheapest. For example, Allstate was at least $200 cheaper than Good Sam, Progressive and others for 6 month policy. Pros: Website was easy to maneuver and access.

Yesterday I needed to get a new insurance policy for our RV. Good Sams quote was over $370, so I started checked out reviews and found this page. So I tried Progressive and got one for $130 for a year with 100k liability. For road service I use AAA. If you have a second vehicle to add to a policy, AAA is absolutely the best. Good luck on your insurance search everyone!

Unfortunately in April 2017 I had to file a claim for my 2010 Allegro motorhome with Good Sam. All I can say is that the agent Katie Pitts was extremely courteous, professional and efficient. I am a USAA customer for 38 years and I didn't think other companies could/would compare to the outstanding service I received from Good Sam/National General insurance. I previously used Progressive and cancelled them because when I moved from Florida to North Carolina, Progressive transferred my policy to NC but reported to the state of Florida that had cancelled my policy instead stating that had moved and Progressive was still insuring me. I found this out when I went to the DMV to request a new... Read More

Today was the day I needed Good Sam Insurance to provide the emergency towing assistance that I signed up to receive. They totally FAILED to respond to my situation. I was left on the side of the road with my grand kids, daughter-in-law, and wife. Absolutely and totally unsatisfactory. Don't waste your money on Good Sam Insurance. They don't provide promised services when you call. I'm seriously considering talking to my attorney about this disaster. You can be assured that I will not renew my policy with Good (BAD) Sam.

Thank you all for putting in a review. I also received a quote and it sounded to good to be true. I had decided to go with them but the representative as been slow with closing the deal. So I have had plenty of time to research and talk to my regular agent to find out they are indeed to good to be true. Stay with what you know and don't give into greed about saving money on such a huge investment. Or it will be bigger than your are ready for.

I have had their ins since 1959, NGI has changed. They have people with cold hearts working now. I hit an elk in Oregon and I know the damage incurred, they are denying many parts of the damage claiming it old damage with no proof. I have photos and dates showing no damage. I asked for their proof in writing and they replied with a notice of cancellation. I contacted 15 shops in So CA and all off the record said NGI is the most difficult to deal with always denying this and that. They are all afraid to loose business by speaking out. They all told me that Bryan Hughes is the worst to work with. They all said AAA is the best. I am a full-timer and will need to go back to Illinois (out of... Read More

omg. we just insured with them on our new travel Coleman RV. It's been a month already having issues. They say our regular insurance is reporting we have an at fault accident which is not true. Our insurance says they do not show us with an at fault so premium went from $382/yr to over $700! They said if we send proof we aren't at fault it will drop to $434/yr if we pay the year in full up front. If not it's $512. We are still considered a risk so we no longer qualify for the $382 if they remove the at fault . I think we are going elsewhere after reading these comments about them. Thank God we haven't gave them but $77.00 so far!

I was going to see and potentially buy a motorhome on Sunday and do the paperwork on Monday. I called Good Sam asking the best advise so I can be covered on Monday morning after the transfer on the DMV. They said that will be better to gather all RV info and do all the paperwork and down payment on the previous Friday. If in case the deal do not go through, to call her on Monday for an immediate refund. I did left a message with the agent the same Sunday as the deal did not go through. I called on Monday to confirm. She did not pick up the phone leaving a new message again. After several messages and phone calls I decided to contact the National Insurance Company that charged my... Got quote from Good Sam Insurance (National General) for 12 months coverage on our motorhome. Price was competitive but when we started to pay and give them a credit card number, they said the quote was only for six months! All my documentation we have that I printed clearly stated in several places that it was for 12 months. They refused to honor the written quote that THEY sent me. The people are out and out crooks!

Bought National General Insurance thur Good Sam. Five months pass and start getting emails about reviewing my policy. Spend next 3 weeks trying to talk to someone about my policy review. When I finally get someone to talk to they tell me that my rates are going up $ 80.00 dollars a month. Told them I would find somthing else because I had no claims and thought that was ridiculous. They blamed it on a rate increase in Texas. I cancled may policy the day it was due. Today I recieved a bill for $ 97.00 for ONE day of coverage. I expected better from any company connected or recomended by Good Sam. This is a scam. Glad I never had a claim, They probably would have charged me or... Read More

I bought an extended warranty from Camping World of Bartow Florida - I NEVER received a copy in my packet of papers from the dealership. My #1 complaint is that NO ONE ever told me I have to cover ALL freight - I was told the only thing I would ever pay was the deductible. My rig is a 2014 Keystone Alpine 3600RS fifth wheel - I just had to replace my steps for the second time since I've owned this - the first time was covered by original warranty. Camping World of Bartow Florida just charged me over $96.00 for freight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And that WAS ON TOP OF MY DEDUCTABLE!!!!! when I QUESTIONED GOOD SAM - THEY TOLD ME IT WAS WRITTEN IN EXCLUSION 11 !!!!! So I obtained a copy of my... Read More
