Headquartered in Ohio and founded in 1937, the Progressive Corporation has grown into one of the largest insurance carriers in the United States. In addition to auto, motorcycle, and RV insurance, the company partners with Pets Best to offer pet insurance policies as well. Progressive offers policies that cover injuries only, as well as more comprehensive packages for those who want help paying for routine and preventative care, like vaccinations and annual checkups.

Overall Rating: 4.4 / 5 (Excellent)

Together with its partner Pets Best, Progressive offers flexible, comprehensive pet insurance plans with rare coverage options like dental illness and behavioral coverage. It's also one of the few pet insurers to cover working pets. There's no major area where Progressive pet insurance falls behind its competitors, so there's no reason not to get a quote to see what it can offer you.

Progressive Coverage

Coverage - 4.3 / 5

Progressive pet insurance offers policies for all dogs and cats seven weeks and older. It's one of few pet insurance companies to offer coverage to working pets and to cover dental illness, as long as it's not a pre-existing condition. Choose between accident-only plans or BestBenefit plans, which cover accidents and illnesses. Those interested in the most comprehensive coverage can add routine care coverage for an additional fee.

This is common among pet insurers and gives pet owners the flexibility to choose how much they want to pay out of pocket, though if you go with a higher reimbursement rate, your premiums will go up.
