This company is making us miserable. We contracted with them to move our worldly possessions collected during 50 years of marriage from Eugene OR to Grand Haven Michigan. They were supposed to pick up on Feb. 10 but they were a day late which caused us to set off across the country in the midst of horrible weather. We pushed on to get to Michigan because we told them that we would be available for delivery on Tues. Feb. 16. They still have our stuff and are now saying maybe 4 more days. I AM LIVID! I have had a nightmarish experience with International Van Lines, avoid them, they are dishonest. On August 10, 2020, I contracted an international "door to door" move of all my family's belongings from California to Ecuador. Our property was loaded onto a shipping container by the moving company on September 10. As of December 15, 2020 we have not received our shipment and IVL does not have an estimated delivery date and we received a fine from customs because IVL abandoned our importation process. I hired International Van Lines to move from California to Canada and, at first, the communications between myself and IVL were always swiftly answered and it seemed like things would go well. Once my deposit was given though they contracted our move out to AMS Transportation Services and from there it went steadily downhill. I was originally given an average of 3-6 days for the goods to be delivered from the time of pick up, but it took 4 weeks before it actually was delivered (and this was with daily phone calls and emails to dispatch and the IVL employee I'd been dealing with trying to get our stuff delivered in time for our wedding). International Van Lines moved our personal belongings from NY to Arizona. Their services throughout were very, very bad. They shipped 5 days late, delivered 11 days late, damaged and/or did not correctly assemble several pieces, their customer services was rude, inefficient and not capable. I would NOT recommend using them at all.
I used IVL to move from California to North Carolina for medical school and it was ONE OF THE WORST EXPERIENCES OF MY LIFE. First, on the pick-up day they never showed up. Once I called to ask about the delay, we were told that they “must have contacted us to let us know they would be one day late”, but we never received any communication. The next day, they were 2 hours late and again never kept us updated. Second, once they arrived and had half the stuff in the van I was informed that I would need to pay more than double what I was quoted. Missing items broken and chipped furniture, poor communication will never recommend IVL
Did my research and picked IVL over others because of their ratings and the almost too good to be true estimate they provided. And there was good and bad, but a lot of disappointment. 1. On the first day the crew showed up 6 hours late and I could get no one from IVL to answer my calls. Basically, I was left in the dark with no support. Meantime they had their down payment. 2. Afterwards, the crew showed up about 2-hours late on each of the other three days of the move. 3. Forget their price quote, every day their crew chief was putting a change order in front of me. Do not use this company if you want to protect you life belongings. I paid for a full service to move from Florida to Colorado and everything went great with the Florida move part. The Colorado part is another story. They moved my belongings into a smaller truck and jammed it all in. They travel last hour with the back door open as my items was fired to fit into a smaller truck. The local team had no tools and the local agent she was n to aware of a full service move. Many items are missing and broken. I have pictures of all and to make it worse the local team lied about missing items that were broken locally and thrown into a dumpster. International Van Lines handled my move and did well. As a veteran I've moved all over the world and 7 times in the sates alone. I've worked with every major van lines and moving company nationally. I found IVL online after doing a month of research. Their cost seemed reasonable and the sales rep Justin was knowledgeable, so I booked with them. The whole way through I didnt feel any unease, in fact they stayed on top of everything and made sure it went smooth. I was pleased with the overall outcome and will use them again for my next move.
I used IVL for an out of state move to Seattle. The movers were on-time, packed excellent and were all very polite. The whole move took about a week door to door. I got everything with no damage or issues so I would use them again!
