Best experience I've ever had with any mover. The owner, took complete care of every detail himself. Not only was his Estimate the lowest price, the final bill was not one penny more. I've moved many times, both local & long distance, previously have had some very unpleasant problems. He and his company, IVL, surpassed my expectations. Great company, I highly recommend them!
I inquired about moving services with several different companies before deciding to schedule my move with IVL. He was very helpful during this process and answered all of my questions. The movers were efficient, arrived earlier than expected and took great care of our items.
WORST HIRING DECISION WE EVER MADE! Our domestic household move with International Van Lines ended up taking 31 days, 7 to 8 truck loads, and cost almost twice the original estimate. It was a nightmare from start to finish. Our belongings were damaged, and some are missing. There was no inventory control--we even ended up with someone else's things. Nothing we were promised when we hired IVL was performed. Before the nightmare was even over, they first offered us money to be quiet, then threatened to sue us if we spoke out about our experiences. Very bad experience. They quoted me an amount to move my stuff and then when they arrived to pick it up told me it was too big and I had to pay more. We specified we couldn't take delivery before the closing date on our house. They called us several days before that date and said "we're here to deliver your furniture!" So then they stored our furniture and wouldn't give us a delivery date. They kept saying that they had up to 2 weeks to get us a delivery date. And since we were out of state, that became a big problem. It was especially annoying b/c we knew the furniture was stored 2 miles from our new house. Worst move ever. They showed up a day late to pack, packed our stuff on the truck without adequate padding around the furniture, so that many pieces got broken, got our stuff mixed up with another shipment on the same truck, the driver went incommunicado and showed up a day late, then arrived without enough people to unload, hired local movers to help (who thankfully were good), threw our furniture into the mud and onto the driveway.
The foreman of my move was extremely knowledgeable. He communicated well with me in regards to my needs and budget. There were a few minor mishaps during my move. I was able to work with him quickly to get these issues resolved in a manner that was agreeable and fair. I would definitely consider IVL for my next move.
They were on time, extremely helpful and hard working! Will be referring them to all of my friends and would use them again any day!
Be very careful with this company they will sub contract your job and then not honor there quote .
READ YOU contract!!! If it's not in the contract, it doesn't matter what the agent told you or wrote in an e-mail. My shipment was underestimated by 52%. Agent miss led me on some things and lied about others. (I have an e-mail from him) I was told the shipment : - would not be sub contracted out, it was - would stay on the original truck until its destination, it was transferred at least three times - delivery date would be given to me at the time of the pick up, it was not also when the truck arrived for the pick up the driver said the cost would be 52% higher then the binding estimate (the only additional item added was 1 yard rake) - 6 pieces where never tagged and... Great experience! They were on time, very efficient and unloaded a large UHaul truck in under two hours. Highly recommend!
