AmeriSafe Moving Service is a moving service broker. The company does not actually perform any moves on its own, but rather it partners with multiple movers who physically transport your belongings. That helps the company find a moving deal that suits your schedule, budget, and special service needs,
AmeriSafe Moving Service can connect both residential and commercial customers with moving companies that perform local, intrastate, and interstate moves. Their partners also offer storage solutions, which can be handy when you must leave one home or business before your new home is available.

Customers can request a quote online, but for greater accuracy, quotes are only provided after you speak with a moving specialist who can assess the scope of your move.

Previously known as National Moving Services, AmeriSafe receives an B rating from the Better Business Bureau. In our experience, that's an unusually high rating for a moving services company. The company is not yet rated on Trustpilot.

The Department of Transportation has registered about 18 complaints against the company. But customers should be aware that, since AmeriSafe is a moving services broker that hires physical movers and doesn't perform moves itself, these complaints may relate to the movers AmeriSafe partners with. It is always a good idea to investigate the reputation of the company that you actually contract with to physically move your belongings. You can do that by visiting the Department of Transportation website and searching its complaint database using your mover's DOT license number, which should be plainly listed on your moving quote or contract.

If you are thinking about using AmeriSafe for your move, DON'T!!!! These guys will sign you up, then sub you out to a cut-rate moving company that will most likely trash your furniture. When you call them to complain, they tell you that a) they do not have a claims department and b) you have to deal with the subcontractor.

Terrible experience. The sales people tell you things that aren’t delivered upon at all. Their estimate was sooooo low and I only was off 10 boxes. Paid an extra $4000 and they WILL hold your stuff hostage until you pay. Truck was ridiculously small and had to wait another day for truck 2 to come when we were supposed to be out of the house. Truck 1 did arrive quickly at our new house so I would give props for that. Truck 2 is still 14 hours away with no communication or ETA. Moving company who they sold the job to could not have had a bigger asshole running it. A terrible, terrible experience. Try to find a moving company that is NOT a broker company. It is completely disjointed and... Read More

Do NOT use this company for your move! They are NOT movers, but a moving broker. They don't tell you that up front. I wasn't looking for help finding a mover. I was packing myself and just needed a reputable moving company to move me. I was getting quotes from differnt companies and theirs came in the lowest. Since I was trying to keep the price down, I decided to go with them. From the beginning I was told by my repensentative, ROB, that Amerisafe goes by cubic feet and not weight and that after going over what I had in my home TWICE (once verbally and once virtually, because I didn't want any surprises at the end) I was told the cost would be $6500 for my move from Indiana to... In my opinion, Amerisafe should not be allowed licenses to operate in any state. The company seems to coordinate with the movers it hires to substantially raise the price of your move, on the day of your move. I feel Amerisafe pressures you with the potential loss of your deposit, complications with your lease, job, expectant family, etc. I think they hope it may force you, under duress, to just pay the exorbitant increase in rate. In my opinion this company is incapable of giving an honest estimate, coordinate with the movers it hires to complete the job, or treat it's clients with a mediocre amount of basic respect. I believe this company advertises fraudulently and is basically a con... Read More

Amerisafe was the broker for my move, they came and wrapped all my furniture and seemed like things were going well they were done in about 2 hours time. This company never came over to give me a real estimate, it ended up being almost 3 times the amount quoted. My belongings were transferred to Safebound trucking company. I was given 3 different times and date of arrival. When I final got my load he refused to come into my complex because he said truck could not get in with trailer. I had already cleared it with my apartment association that it would be ok. He didn't have a crew nor was he planning on getting a crew. As a result I had to hire man own crew and pay an additional $700.00... Read More

Amerisafe lied about the delivery date, I was told to allow five days not counting the pick-up and delivery day. I am now past that time and they cannot tell me when my stuff will be delivered. I asked if they were direct movers and was told yes but that was a lie also because when the movers (Cobra) picked up, they told me my stuff would go to a warehouse and then either Cobra or a contractor under them, would take it the rest of way. Don't use them.

Amerisafe is the broker. The sales representative said nicely and the true fact is that they didn't tell you the hidden fact that the price increases after uploading and the delivery date is delayed. Our price is doubled and after 1 week our stuff hasn't arrived yet. When asked Arena the moving company they said not yet know. The worst moving experience so far.... more to follow

Never again. They offered 30 days of free storage, but the movers that came said they didn't know anything about that and instructed us to meet them 600 miles away by the next afternoon, which wasn't possible for both my husband and myself since we were still wrapping thing up on the house. My husband went to open up the storage unit (a 1500 sf whse), then had to leave. we had no choice due to the time frame we were given. They threw a 5000 sf home's worth of furniture, unwrapped or protected, in a pile in the corner about 10 foot high. mind you the had 1500 sf to work with, but had to throw everything in a 500 sf pile over 10 foot high. Literally took boxes marked fragile and artwork and... Read More

So far not a good experience the movers are ready to raise the quote total after AmeriSafe raised it due to added items not a problem there. Using realtor photos to gage the cubic ft. Not close to what the movers are saying we need another truck. More to come.
