Stay far away from protective life. They will make you file a law suit to force them to pay a claim. It took over one year for to get the payment. Because the payee was 70 they confused that person by stating incorrect laws.
My father died over a year ago. My mother has dementia and I have power of attorney. I keep filing paperwork and they won't pay. "You need to have WXYZ completed". I complete the paperwork and they say "you are missing X". No problem, I send them X. "You are missing WYZ". I send them WXYZ again. "You filled out Y wrong." It was the same as last time, here it is again. Get my point? Excuse after excuse not to pay. I call and leave messages for the case worker. WILL ONLY RESPOND BY MAIL. They are doing all they can not to pay.
If I could leave negative stars, trust me - I would. An absolutely AWFUL experience dealing with this company. I was quoted (via Costco) a wonderful rate that was substantially less than what I pay at NYL. The underwriting process took 4 months - partially because there was an error in my medical records that they denied me for, I had corrected with my physician, and subsequently started over. The doctor who originally made the error had left the practice, which was my 3rd doctor with them in 14 years, but I've always been with the same group. My name is Thomas, policy number LM1496199. It pains me to give Protective Life Insurance one star as they truly don't deserve that much credit. I’ve been trying to surrender a life insurance policy since the middle of July 2019. They have had an extremely difficult time differentiating between me and my dad, despite the fact that we have different middle names, social security numbers and birthdays. I can’t tell if I’ve been getting the run around for more than six months due to widespread incompetence or because the company doesn’t have the funds to pay out in accordance with their own policies. Took me 4 months to finish application. Rude customer service. Worst experience I've ever had with a "business". Consider this, I'm giving them my money, and this was my experience. Now imagine if I passed away while this policy was active how hard/impossible it would be to get the money my family would be owed. Stay far away from this company.
Customer Service is HORRIBLE!!! It has been two days and I still have not spoken to a person. I logged in through my account and sent a message, no reply. I also sent a message from their website homepage and still no reply. Liberty Life insurance changed their name, then sold our policies to Protective Life Insurance. Protective Life Insurance. does not have my policy in full. They only have the basics. This policy is 25 years old and no paper work available. Progressive is the worst when it comes to their old customers.
Who is Protective Life Insurance?? I did not agree to this company. I attempted to get answers and was on hold for 40 minutes without help. We have six policies with Liberty Mutual, but pulling this stunt and selling our policy to someone else without our knowledge is enough to take all our business elsewhere. Getting new quotes today.
LIBERTY MUTUAL SOLD OUT TO PROTECTIVE ONE OF MY POLICIES IS MISSING. HOLD TIME IS OVER 1HR TRYING TO FIX THIS. SPOKE TO THEM TWICE ALREADY KEEP TELLING ME BY WEEK END IT WILL BE ATTACHED TO MY ACCOUNT. STILL NOT THERE NO PAYMENTS ARE BEING MADE TO A WHOLE LIFE POLICY THAT IVE BEEN PAYING TO LIBERTY FOR OVER 10YRS. DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO SHOULD I MAYBE CALL A LAWYER?
The worst customer service! They purchased Liberty Life Insurance and when I call now to pay my bill it is VERY VERY HARD TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE I was on hold for over an hour. The prompts are ridiculous to get to speak to someone. Liberty Life was the best. I AM THINKING OF DROPPING MY POLICIES WITH PROTECTIVE LIFE THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THAT BAD!
