Our house was hit by drunk driver. We had formost for some years. When it come time for repairs, company said we were only aloud used wood, yet we were paying high premiums. Had to go after drunk driver ourselves and was awarded over $8000 more but never was able to recover that. Judge said good luck with that. I was told by law professor that the judge or attorney should have been made to pay, but foremost did not help us recover loss from drunk driver. when you pay for insurance, I thought their suppose to help you with your claim. Not fight you for any coverage your entitled to.
We bought home insurance from foremost several years ago and in fact this same company has insured this mobile home now for well into 20 years. We just now had a first claim when a tree fell on our carport. we promptly reported it the same day we took and sent pictures to the agent assigned and we spoke to him and was told on Tuesday that he would have things settled by that Friday. Friday rolled around and i had to call him and was told he was working on it and would call me after lunch to discuss the settlement. but he didn't call so i called him back and he then told me he wouldn't be doing it until next Wednesday. In today's uncertain world when you tell a customer you will do... Read More
Foremost property insurance sucks. ACV (actual cash value) is what you'll get after depreciation of your claim on your roof repairs. also, demolition on any property items or bldgs are extra and comes out of your pocket. I would advise anyone getting property insurance to go some where else. I did and all is much better now.
After the derecho storm in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, I contacted Foremost. They said my roof was 20 years old and everything was d err appreciated to zero. Since I had just recently purchased the home, I believed them until 3 different roofers told me the roof was a single layer new roof within a maximum of 1 to 4 years. Having read all the terrible things people have written, I can see why they only have 2.2 star rating.
Don't Be Fooled By Empty Boasts and "Company Pledge" My grandfather passed away 5 years ago, and left the house to me. I've been paying Foremost since then, on time, and in the full amount. They just notified me we need to redo the policy in my name, and they would refund the annual payment "to the appropriate party". They wrote the check out to my deceased grandfather, who did not create an estate, and we have no way to cash the check. Foremost certainly has the ability to rewrite the check to my name (the person who owns the property, has a deed to the property, and has been paying insurance the last 5 years) -- isn't that by definition the appropriate party? They offer... Read More
I have a comment alright maybe it can be answered. When I applied for my home owners insurance on November 03,2019 the very first thing I told the agent was I have a above ground swimming pool, is this going to be a problem? I was told no that Foremost is one of the only companies out there that does accept swimming pools. I also told her that I had no fence surrounding the pool, no problem I was told. I exclaimed that I have a deck with a locking gate, my ladder is a deck ladder not free standing at ground level. We installed the pool in June 2009 and replaced it once in the same spot. The pool is a above ground that has a five course retaining wall and the pool sits up off the ground it... Read More
Had 5 properties on a policy. Added a 6th with the tenant wanting to know if they could have an above ground pool. I contacted my agent and she contacted Foremost and was told it was OK. I then allowed the above ground pool in a 2 year lease. I then get a notice that the pool would have to be removed or they were cancelling my policy. My agent called back and went up the ladder and spoke to supervisors. She basically was told that "Small pools (up to 2 or 3 feet deep) were allowed" They are loosing all of my properties of which the agent found comparable coverage for much less money. When I called, I got an "I'm sorry". No stars from me if I could, but I had to give one to post.... Read More
Awful customer service. I had to cancel the policy and get a refund. Impossible to contact them via email or otherwise and they send a refund via Cheque via mail to the US ( while I live overseas ) Cheque payable to LLC could not ask anyone to cash the Cheque. It has cost me about 80 $ to post it overseas, when deposited it via the BoFa application it got charged back and the until now have to chase them for a 262$ refund already 100$ cost so far and waist of time. Anti customer CSR customer service very rigid attitude.
