Phonak offers some of the most technologically advanced hearing aids in the industry. The company has been in business for over 70 years, enjoys a good reputation and provides customers with education resources to help them make the most appropriate purchase decisions.

With a focus on high technology and innovation, Phonak prices tend to be on the high side. Since Phonak doesn't sell its hearing aids directly, but rather through hearing clinics and resellers, cost markup is also a factor in its high prices.

Phonak doesn't offer financing, but some of the resellers it works with may. Some health insurers also cover hearing aids, to be sure to consult with your provider to see whether your plan provides coverage.

Phonak Additional Services

Features and Price - 4 / 5

Phonak does not have prices listed anywhere on their website, explaining that the cost of hearing aids depends on the products and services that each hearing care provider offers. This is because Phonak manufactures and distributes their products, but does not sell them directly. After further inspection, we found most of their devices land in the $1,500 and $3,000 price range.

Phonak offers a free, three-minute online hearing test. The test consists of an examination for perception of low, mid, and high pitch sounds, as well a series of questions with answers ranging from "always" to "never." The test is not meant to replace a consultation with an expert, but it can provide customers with some quick information about their hearing capacity. Phonak can connect you with a hearing services provider and hearing aid reseller in your location.

Phonak has a 30-day trial offer, but only for their Lyric™ hearing aid.

Spent $4300 for new phonak hearing aids, 2 nd pair I’ve owned. I will never purchase another. First I was told I needed molded hear aids, that didn’t work, the sound was like my head was in barrel, They have been sent back a couple of times, I go in about every 2 weeks, They are not worth the money. I would like to go to another phonak provideder dealer but I was told that I would have to be charged for every visit . So what if I had moved, does that mean the warranty is no good?

Phonak B50-312 is wonderful, except for summer time. The BTE design wicks sweat into the battery case and the battery dies. It's infuriating to be working outside on a hot day and to start getting the low power tone when you put new batteries in three hours ago. Rechargeables have been suggested, but the price difference is about a 6 year payback, if the batteries lasted in the summer like they do winter / spring. (Since rechargeables are supposed to last 500 charges, I question the life.) Drying the battery will get it to work for a little bit, but the life is shot. For the price, I expect them to be sweatproof.

I currently have Phonak hearing aids. I've had the Lyric and Starkey aids over the last 15 years. My current aids are a blessing. I have more options to hear in a wide range of places that I go to. I have five options that I can set my aids to. I have the "remote" on my phone that I use to set the program I need at the time. I can also press the up and down volume buttons to adjust to the program as well. My base program is "Auto sense OS" is automatically picks up the sound and transmits it to my ear. However, if I am in the car and want to avoid the road noise I usually switch to my second program, "Speech in noise" which deaden all outside noise and I can actually hear the radio and... Phonak a frustrating company. The product I bought i was generally happy with but the customer service and support is nothing short of pathetic. They operate as a franchise. They must barely train there audiologist and the hq offers no real support either. In short avoid.

We were sold a Phonak product for my elderly mother with an appalling service. Indeed she is not able use the product. Phonak distributor in Istanbul(Turkey) refuse to take the product back under a two year guarantee whatsmore Phonak main company in Switzerland are a bunch of clown in the hands of their distributors. Very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Stay away from Phonak products.

I've worn an analog in-the-ear Phonak for the last five years and have been thrilled with the natural sound quality. Recently I purchased two behind-the-ear aids and have been very disappointed with the sound quality and discrimination. If I didn't have the first aid, I would think the new digital aids were fine, but I have Phonak's much better, now discontinued analog aid to compare them to and they fall short: tinny sound, echoes, distortions in sound. Have had this adjusted many times to try to get them to match the first aid, with no success. Something is wrong at Phonak that they think the highly touted digital aids are better than the analogs.
