I have found out that BCBS of Alabama RX review board are not qualified medical professionals. They can't pay a medical professionals to do the reviews because they pay the top-level management to much. Thier pay is over 4 million yearly

INDEPENDENCE BLUE CROSS (NBC COMCAST UNIVERSAL) IS THE WORST HEALTH INSURANCE IN THE WORLD!!! IT'S AN INSULT TO EMPLOYEES AND THEIR FAMILIES THAT A BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY SHOULD BE SO DIFFICULT AND DENY SO MANY CLAIMS! PERSONALLY, AFTER GETTING DNA TESTING TO FIND OUT I HAVE A HIGHER BREAST CANCER PROBABILITY, I AM GETTING A DOUBLE MASTECTOMY TO ELIMINATE THE CHANCE TO GET BREAST CANCER AND HAVE TO FIGHT IBX FOR TREATMENTS BECAUSE I AM SURE THAT WILL HAPPEN WITH HOW AWFUL THEY ARE. I AM NOT WILLING TO TAKE A CHANCE.

It's a shame I cannot provide a lower rating. BCBS is the worst this country has to offer in medical insurance and ethics/integrity. I'll give one example: their dental Provider directory shows various dentists that in-network. If you go see one of those dentists, they will then send you an EOB telling you it is out-of-network and you'll have to spend countless hours trying to prove your plan allows this dentist in-network. The entire BCBS game is bait-and-switch.

I was forced to get obama care, and was overcharged by this company when I wrote to them about it I was totally ignored I wouldn't advise anyone to this sorry company I never even received a list of doctors in their network 18 months of paying for nothing

If I could give you zero stars, I would this insurance is unbelievable. If you don’t use the pharmacies, they want you to use your gonna be paying a lot of money. SCREW this insurance company.

They deny what UHC approved without any questions last year, I am so sad our company moved to this unreliable insurance provider.

i just keep calling trying to work things out they don't know how to help me i don't recommend them at all you will not be happy I pay a large monthly premium only to be out of pocket for what I need as a 60yr old man. Copay for referral, copay for specialist only to be denied what the Dr. Recommends. So I'm out of pocket for premiums, visits and treatment. I will be dropping my insurance and and making payments to a savings account instead. Absolutely useless insurance!

If I could give ZERO stars I would. I was on a medication for 6 months without a problem and now they WILL NOT COVER IT. And why? oh, because the MANUFACTURER cannot keep it in stock. How is that MY problem? I don't pay for insurance for the insurance company to decide that it's not in my best interest to continue to take it because of supply issues. I pay you to cover my meds. It's not your decision to OVERRIDE what my DOCTOR thinks is best for me. My doctor and I have put in multiple appeals and dozens of phone calls to get this approved. She even prescribed an alternate equivalent medication to which BCBS denied as well. Without insurance these medications cost well over $1000... Read More

I have been trying to change my medical group number for two days now. BCBS has the worst customer service ever totally frustrated with its service. This afternoon I was verified a total of 10 times and still was not able to get my services changed. I then tried going online and the first 4 attempts I received a message saying the site is down try again later, I tried again and was able to log in went through different screens answering questions only to get to the final question required me to choose between two answers that had nothing to do with needing to change group number I received the message SORRY WE CANNOT CHANGE YOUR GROUP NUMBER PLEASE CALL US AT OUR TOLL FREE NUMBER, only...
