I had gutter helmet installed on my home many years ago, and it turned out to be a HUGE MISTAKE. There were problems with the workmanship and over the years many of the pieces have fallen off and caused additional damage to my house. The REAL PROBLEM with Gutter Helmet that they do not tell you about is that fact that if there are trees near your home with sap dropping from them, it makes the gutter helmet surface sticky, and leafs and other debris stick to the surface of the gutter helmet. Rain ends up pouring over the side of the house rather than going into the gutter. I have found a much better cost solution by having someone come to home once a year to clean the gutters. So after reading these other comments I would never had tried Gutter Helmet. I’m glad I did though. I’ve had 3 different products on my home BEFORE Gutter Helmet was installed. I could go on for days about how poorly they worked or didn’t work and about how each sales rep promised me things that seemed too good to be true. Well I’m an attorney and require everything in writing. I’ve tied Leaf Guard, Gutter Guard and Leaf Filter. None of them worked, but will say Leaf Guard worked the best of those three. We had 321 feet professionally installed. Within 60 days the small 3/8 lip was completely blocked with oak tree pollen and blooms and rain just poured over the lip. Water never got in the gutters at all. Lip is way too small for a heavy southern rain! It was like we had no gutter system at all with rain just pouring off the roof . We spent over $2,000 to have these guards installed and are just sick. We got no satisfaction on our complaints. Next week we are taking the whole mess out and installing REAL gutter guards. There goes another couple of grand! DO NOT buy these if you have any trees around your house or experience very heavy rains.
We've had Gutter Helmet about 4 years. Finally just removed the whole mess/ Customer Service is the worst we've ever experienced. Notified them of problem with actually a seam installed directly over our porch, of course it leaked. Called them out 3 times and heard nothing but excuses. (Wrong time of year to check.) I service at least 80 people a month entering my home and don't need an icy porch. Terrible experience, but we have ripped it all off and are sick about the money we spent. Last time we spoke with the representative we were told it would cost $100 to have them come out.

The salesperson who came over to sell this product was noted that after installation of Carter helmet be can be rest assured that our gutters were to not be clot and even if such a situation were to arise or leaking to be noted they will come over and fix the problem free of cost due to their lifetime warranty.
