RingCentral Business Phone System Review

#4 in Business Phone Systems

RingCentral-Overview

RingCentral is a publicly traded (NYSE: RNG) provider of cloud-based business solutions that was founded in 1999. It currently operates offices in the US, Canada, China, Singapore, the Philippines, Russia and Ukraine. The company employs 500 and services over 300,000 customers worldwide.

RingCentral's main product is RingCentral Office. It is essentially a cloud-based hosted PBX phone system combined with desktop and mobile features all integrated into one communication suite. RingCentral hosts and maintains your phone system's hardware and there is no equipment on-site. You can rent IP enabled phones from the company or use your own provided they work with the system. All you need to do is plug the phones into the Internet connection and download the mobile apps and your off and running.

Value

RingCentral offers three plan levels Standard: $19.99 per user per month, Premium: $34.99 per user per month, and Enterprise: $44.99 per user per month. At first glance the Standard plan looks very attractive price-wise for the features included as it's cheaper than most industry competitors. However, this plan in only available for accounts with more than 100 users. The Premium plan is offered for small businesses of 2-19 users, and Enterprise fills the gap of 20-99. For small to midsize businesses these price points are slightly higher than comparable plans with comparable features.

All the above prices are offered with annual contracts. Installation is free and you get the assistance of a RingCentral implementation specialist. You can use your own phones or rent them from the company. Phone rental is only offered with "multi-year" contracts. Month to month plans can cancel at anytime. All plans feature unlimited calling within the US and Canada. Unlimited calling to other countries can be added at additional cost.

A huge plus is that RingCentral offers a 30-day free trial where you can test drive the system.
