Overall Rating: 3.4 / 5 (Very good)

WebWatcher is an excellent parental monitoring app, allowing parents to monitor a device discretely from a secure online account. It is compatible with all 5 key operating systems (Android, iOS, PC, Mac & Chromebook). WebWatcher's stand-out feature is its Alert Log tool. This feature scans all recorded data and uses proprietary filters to identify and highlight items deemed to be risky behavior. Parents receive real-time alerts of all identified risky behavior, which means they can focus their attention on only important items. All recorded data is available for review at any time, but it is up to the parent to decide how much they want to see. The company also offers 24/7 customer service via phone, e-mail and live chat, to ensure the best experience for their customers.

WebWatcher Features & Services

Features & Services - 4.8 / 5

WebWatcher records text and private messaging content, social media, web browser history and searches, photos, GPS locations visited and more. For Android, PC, Mac, and Chromebook, parents will be able to view data in real time. For iPhone, it sends information once a day to the parent's user interface. WebWatcher provides monitoring for multiple social media apps, including Facebook, WhatsApp, Snapchat, Kik, Viber, and, unlike competitor apps, dating website Tinder. The app uses algorithms that automatically scan children's digital activity for risky terms that can lead to problematic issues. This enhanced feature allows parents to focus on only relevant items and is especially useful for parents who do not have time to review all data or wish to respect privacy boundaries.

I had the same issue as ryanw14. I had bad luck with the laptop version several years ago. Looked into an app for my child's phone and thought I would try since it was a so called "Risk Free Trial". After adding to the phone by following the instructions to the letter and deleting the download and app from the app list, I assumed we were good and it was hidden as they advertise. To my surprise, as soon as my child picked up his phone, there was an icon on the home screen. Of course it was deleted within an hour of purchase and requested a refund within 15 hours, noting the problems I had and the "Risk Free Trial" I purchased under. I was denied and the arrogant customer service rep... Read More

Company won't stand behind their product. Product doesn't work as advertised and has never worked properly on my son's device and they will not issue a refund. I have documentation of customer service chats to try and resolve the issue and their website shows that it isn't collecting any data but they say I'm out of luck and come up with a different reason each time. Horrible customer service. Clearly isn't a risk free trial. Should have paid more attention to all the horrible reviews online.

I think all parents need to download this app to help keep their children in line with what responsible and appropriate behavior is. I have watched my kids get into messy situations, but now with WebWatcher I can help them be responsible online.

Their support team was great and walked me through the entire set up process. I have told my friends to get it because it is very easy to install and their support team is very helpful.

I am a big advocate for parental monitoring. As a dad of three teenagers, I need to be able to keep an eye on what they are doing. I love the screenshots feature. WebWatcher has been the best monitoring app I have used so far.

I have been using this product for a couple months now, and it has certainly helped me keep an eye on my kids. At first I was hesitant because I didn't want my daughters to feel like I was invading their privacy, but I promised them I would only check the Alert Log. It really helps me only see the information that needs my attention.

Purchased this product from the company to monitor my child's iOS usage. Based on this, I think the product is awful. After confiscating my child's iPhone, I setup exactly as proposed. I have never recieved ONE useful report about anything happening on the phone. Furthermore, the product does nothing to monitor SnapChat, which is what all the kids use if they want to communicate with thier friends and leave no traces behind. To be fair to Awareness, I think Apple has built a lot of protections into iOS, which makes developing an app like this difficult to do. So the company resorts to uploading and analyzing backup files which doesn't work and frequently locks the child's Apple ID.... Read More

Terrible product! Had a technician remote in to the pc to help with installation. 24 hours later it stopped working. Put a ticket in for help and they told me my child must have installed antivirus software or reset the device! Yes - blame the child when your product doesn't work! Happened again the same week! Had another tech remote in to see for himself nothing on the computer had been changed. He reinstalled the software but I'm so frustrated with their customer service. I get the same canned responses in every email. They will absolutely NOT refund my money even though within the first 10 days of service, it only worked 5 days. AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE!

If you want to monitor an iPhone, you manually need to run a backup in an entirely different app calling iMazing. This can take an hour to run. Then you have to wait another 15 minutes before the data will be available to you in the Webwatcher app. You need to do this every time you want to check the data. That is the opposite of Real Time, and this review and many others are giving people the incorrect impression that this is an adequate tool for monitoring your kids' iPhones. It's ridiculously expensive for what you are getting when it comes to monitoring iPhones.
