The company has been offering its local and interstate services for residential and general moves since 2015. It can pack and unpack items for customers, as well as track their items and transport specialty articles.

They broke several antique pieces of furniture and glassware/dishes that were handed down to me from my grandmother. Dish boxes were smashed and plastic tubs were split. Looks like they basically threw boxes on top of others. One special antique table was given to my mother by my father on their wedding day. It was 80 years old and cannot be fixed. Very disappointed with my experience. I looked at the reviews and saw almost all high ratings. I moved from CA to KY and it was a very expensive move plus so much of my belongings were damaged, some beyond repair. Long Distance Relocation Services is currently under investigation with the state of Florida and the Department of Transportation. It is also operating under numerous different company names, including Long Distance Van Lines. Our experiences echo the experiences of those below, so I won't bother going into detail. However, I am trying to find out the name of the "company" that LDRS subcontracted through to carry out our move from San Diego. The move was carried out by a Ukrainian who went by the name of "Ian" and 3 Russians, one of whom went by the name of Alex. They say that they traveled down from LA, but we have our doubts. THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!! - DONT USE THIS COMPANY!!! I moved from California to North Carolina - granted it is a long way. But, they originally quoted me $3700 - then it changed to $4300. By the time the movers came and was done...it was $9200 for my move. They showed up in a 26' foot moving truck and I told them all of my items are not going to fit in that truck...and I was correct...ended up having to leave some of my belongings behind as I sold my home and had to hand the keys over the next day. No advance calls were made on the day of our move for both pickup and drop-off. Customer service had no information. Movers failed to show on delivery. Drivers did a great job unloading but it took them 9 hours. They never finished taking boxes upstairs and left a big pile of trash. Those 2 drivers did a great job under the circumstances but they got behind on their next schedule without the movers. Customer service had no information when I called. My contact, Lissa, now claims she has no contact with the movers or customer service. Long Distance does not coordinate properly with their subcontractors.
There are two main reasons for my negative review of this company. The first was the lack of professionalism on the part of the moving team that delivered our household items to our new location. The foreman was very abrasive, rude, and disrespectful throughout the move. The contract that we signed stated that the full moving service that we were paying for included having the movers move labeled boxes into the appropriate rooms in the house and well as included basic disassembly/reassembly of furniture. The foreman became upset when we started directing the movers carrying the boxes into the appropriate rooms in the house and told us that they were only required to leave all of our items... DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They lie and promise things to you that are untrue. Above they say that they have a A+ rating with the BBB, but in fact they have a D rating. We have moved across country 5 times and NEVER had the experience we had with this company. They treated our belongs like they were nothing.
