I paid over 17,000 to move from Florida to Ohio. Damaged furniture, lost keypad to safe, refused to move safe in the house, boxes were crushed and we found several objects broken. I can not reach anyone by phone or email. I filled a so-called claim, it’s been over a month and no one has reached out to me to ask questions and I have no way of reaching them. What a scam.
IF WE COULD GIVE THIS COMPANY A NEGATIVE RATING WE WOULD! FEDERAL MOVING AND STORAGE WAS BROKERED (WITHOUT OUR KNOWLEGE OR CONSENT) BY THE MOVING COMPANY WE HIRED (MAGELLAN VAN LINES) WE WERE MISQUOTED ON PRICING AND ONCE FEDERAL MOVING AND STORAGE HAD OUR BELONGINGS, OUR CALLS/TEXTS/CERTIFIED LETTERS TO THEM WENT UNANSWERED OR WERE RETURNED AS UNDERLIVERABLE. WE ALSO PAID FEDERAL MOVING AND STORAGE TO TRANSPORT (NOT DRIVE) ONE OF OUR VEHICLES FROM MN TO SC-WHEN IT WAS DELIVERED TO US IT HAD SEVERAL THOUSAND MORE MILES ON THAN WHEN IT WAS LOADED ONTO THEIR TRANSPORT VEHICLE IN MN. A terrible experience. We contracted with Federal Moving Corp. to move household goods from DC to Albuquerque. They picked up the furniture one day late (not too bad). Delivery was over a month late - a month of camping out without furniture, clothes, and kitchen equipment. Our delivery window was August 1, 2019 to August 7, 2019. On August 8th, the furniture was still in a warehouse in either New York or Brooklyn (despite repeated requests, they never told us where our furniture was). AVOID FEDERAL MOVING!! UPDATE (6 months post-move): I have continued to contact the rep I initially spoke with to no avail. It seems I am not getting any form of compensation for the movers making me miss my flight and having to pay for hotels (~$400 in the hole...). UPDATE (3 months post-move): I spoke again with the rep I initially spoke to; he said they would issue a partial refund due to the issues faced, but I have not yet seen a refund (2 months after he said it was in progress). I am very satisfied with their ability to keep me updated and provide customer service oriented support wherever it was needed. I endorse this moving service!
Great service, very hard working and professional team. Showed up exactly on time for the walk through and the move itself. The main office was on the ball with communication before during and after as well. I would absolutely recommend them again. Their workers are actual employees of the company and not just day labor. They know each other and they know what they're doing. Five star service the whole way.
At this point in time, I cannot recommend Federal Moving Corp. My family selected the company because of its competitive prices, and because we value smaller businesses. Federal Moving picked up our furniture on May 31 with no issue. Our scheduled delivery date (for a Maryland to Texas move) was June 6, which seemed in line with the estimates of other companies. After we contacted Federal Moving, they indicated a one-week delay. This was understandable. After this, however, they indicated two additional weeklong delays—extending beyond the 21-day legally allowed delivery period. I’m fortunate to have moved with federal moving. They were easier to work with on such a tight time frame. The whole experience was better than my last move. I will recommend them to people that want to move with a carrier on a budget.
