Overall Rating: 4.4 / 5 (Excellent)

Consumers can rest easy knowing that State Farm's motorcycle insurance will be able to lend them a hand given the company's strong financial ratings and extensive coverage options. Additional options such as protective gear, sidecar, and upgraded components coverage which are included in State Farm's standard policies also ensure maximum value. Its mixed customer reception does not come as a surprise considering the company's size, and should not discourage consumers from seeking State Farm insurance. Although there may be stronger motorcycle insurers, we can fully recommend State Farm, especially for those who already hold other types of insurance with them.

I took out a seasonal premium policy which I paid every month. I got a bill for 193.80 for July and it was sent in early. State Farm cashed it on July 6th and on July 12th I sold the bike. So on August 10 I called the agent because I thought for sure I was entitled to a refund but was told no refund on seasonal motorcycle policies. I know it's not a lot of money but how can they keep the whole months payment for only 6 days. Not a fan of State Farm any longer.

My only beef is they offer absolutely zero medical coverage. I realize that medical is covered mostly by your medical insurance; however, medical coverage covers what your health insurance does not. For example, ambulance ride ($300 copay), Emergency Room ($3-500 copay), helicopter ambulance flight ($20,000+ depending on what health insurance pays them before they balance bill patient), 20% average coinsurance, $3000+ maximum out of pocket, and the list goes on. The last thing a person needs to worry about if they're in a coma, wheelchair, whatever, because of a motorcycle accident and survived or a surviving spouse who just lost someone in a motorcycle accident is a pile of bills that...
