These people have started not doing their job as fast. I've been waiting over a week for authorization for a foot surgery. I'm in extreme pain. They use to take only 1 to 2 days. I'm wondering what is going on there. Must be woke syndrome.
Nothing about WellCare is geared toward customer service. Instead, its website is a poorly designed cumbersome chore to navigate, and typically requires a phone call because of failure to recognize passwords. Phone service is even worse. English is not the first language of those answering the calls, and they may as well be robots because they are unable to recognize that the script they are reading to you asks for information you have just provided them. A call I made today to change my address and banking information--which took a single English-speaking Aetna representative 8 minutes to take care of for me--lasted 33 minutes, during which time I had to be transferred to a second person... I just enrolled in Wellcare Medicare plan but due to health reason I think I may have to go back to Medicare as primary and I am looking to see if Wellcare offers a supplemental insurance to Medicare.
Two years ago I paid just over $17/mo for supplement drug coverage. Last year $21.80. This year $26.90.
A 23% increase in insurance premium this year has no basis with respect to actual cost increases. I would not recommend going with the almost "bait and switch" tactic of this company.
I would like to understand how you rate wellcare with 4 stars when the reviews are 1 star? I think I picked this horrible insurance company for my 82 yr old mom without looking further based on your your "what has to be bogus star system"
. In case they put anything different on giving 1 star to WellCare and 1 star to consumers advocate.
Where did these 4 stars come from are you? You review? I think I'll do some research and see if you have also rated other companies good that have done their customers wrong.

I'm super frustrated with this company as I enrolled in Medicare drug insurance when I turned 65 but my husband is still working full time and WellCare has got itself listed as my primary insurance for my drug prescriptions and not my insurance whom I'm insured first through, Anthem. Which is out primary. Everytime I a prescription is called in for me, Wellcare is billed not my primary insurance and of course I'm denied coverage. So I have to spend time on the phone talking to 15 different people and try to get Wellcare to change to my secondary coverage, but they don't. I find this company hard to deal with, or won't.
