Virginian Leesa Sleep, Inc. was founded in 2015 as an online luxury mattress company. Their signature Universal Adapted Feel™ works for all types of sleepers, adapting separately with minimal movement transfer. They also offer pillows, blankets, and bed frames.

Size and Firmness

Leesa makes two types of mattresses, both their original foam Leesa, and the Sapira, with a pocket spring core and foam top layers. The all-foam Leesa is made from three different foams for breathability, body contouring, and core support, avoiding the sinking and overheating that can be common in other foam mattresses. However, it only comes in one level of firmness, as does their Sapira mattress, which combines the Leesa’s cooling and pressure relieving foams with pocket springs.

Both Leesa and Sapira come in the following standard sizes:

Twin or Single

Twin XL

Full or Double

California King

Leesa mattresses are compressed, boxed and shipped to your home, and can usually only be bought online via their website, which claims that the compression actually helps extend the life of your mattress. Leesa is manufactured without PBDE flame retardants, ozone depleters, heavy metals, or formaldehyde, to safeguard their customer’s health.

Their spring core Sapira extends the springs to the edge of the bed, in order to avoid the feeling of rolling off which can occur. Since the springs are isolated between two pound high-resiliency stabilizing foam, there’s virtually no motion transfer, helping to obtain a better night’s sleep. Leesa’s Sapira mattress receives excellent reviews of its support system and longevity, making it an ideal choice for stomach or back sleepers, and people who sleep with a partner.

Purchase Details

Though Leesa manufactures luxury bed-in-a-box mattresses, their price points are quite reasonable, and ground shipping via UPS is covered by the company, for both original delivery and returns during the 100-night sleep trial. Leesa provides a 10-year limited warranty for both their Leesa and Sapira mattresses, covering defects not associated with normal use, as long as the mattress is continually supported by a frame or foundation. The warranty will not cover shipping for repair or replacement. Leesa foundations feature a 5-year limited warranty for defects in workmanship or materials, and their pillows have a 3-year limited warranty. Leesa’s luxury mattresses offer good value and longevity for their price, but they’re also committed to giving back to the community: they donate one mattress for every ten sold and purchaset one tree per purchased mattress.

Customer Service and Reputation

Leesa is not accredited by the Better Business Bureau, but they do enjoy an A- grade with the organization. They also have excellent, 80% positive reviews on TrustPilot, with an exceptionally good 7.7 out of 10. Feedback centers on the comfort aspect of the mattress, the value for the price, and the good customer service. Independent sleep review websites concur that both the Sapira and the Leesa provide an excellent night’s sleep.
