Its well-established financial strength suggests that it has been well-managed in its 95 years of existence. USAA stands for Universal Scam Across America - way worse than Wells Fargo - targets America's veterans - BE AWARE & BEWARE

Thwere is no record of PNC Bank having perchassed or owning USAA. In 2020 PNC sued USAA for patent infringement. Charles Schwab purchased USAA's Investment Division. Any further information about PNC Bank and USAA would be appreciated.

As a USAA senior member of over 44 years - it is NOT the same company my father and uncles help to foster as the company stands on past record and policies - NOT on current administration and practices. There has been a significant company company business "cultural" shift since acquired by PNC Bank. Still, not fully exposed - USAA questionable and ethical insurance practices are being challenged in not only individual legal challenges but in "class action" suits nationwide as well as being reviewed by both State and federal agencies. USAA has prospered and grown not so much to better serve the interests of U.S. military and veterans - while expanding eligibility for other insured - but... Read More

We have had personal property insurance on our Townhouse for over 20 years and never had a claim till last May when a leak in our shower stained the living room ceiling. We had the leaking pipe repaired and then had the celing repaired, so far we have spent over $5K and have had a terrible experience with the USAA claims adjusters.First the claims aduster was replaced several times and the new adjuster had to familiarize herself with our case, then USAA kept telling us they needed more details from the Condo association, we have been trying for over 4 months to have our claim processed and have spent countless hours going back and forth with USAA and our Homeowners association, as of today... 11-year USAA member here. We have checking, savings, 2 homeowners policies, 4 auto policies, 1 personal property insurance policy, 2 auto loans, and a credit card with them. We purchased mold endorsements with our policies at the time of creation. 2-years ago, we repaired a plumbing leak behind our washer and dryer, and confirmed there was no mold damage. When replacing floors recently, we discovered mold on the baseboard extending onto the studs surrounding the area where the leak occurred. After filing a claim with USAA and providing proof of repairs, pictures of damage, professional inspection, and testing results confirming the source, our claim was denied because it was not... USAA HOMEOWNER'S INSURANCE IS TERRIBLE. I HAVE RECEIVED 4 NOTICES THAT MY INSURANCE IS CANCELLED, WHEN I SIMPLY CHANGED IT. I KEEP HAVING TO CALL TO CONFIRM MY INSURANCE & HAVE SPENT WAY TOO MUCH TIME WORRYING OVER IT. DO NOT GO WITH USAA. THEIR STUPID, INANE COMPUTER SYSTEM GENERATES THESE DOCUMENTS WHICH HARASS YOU ENDLESSLY. USAA also screwed up with our investments there. They keep changing the company which manages investments. Not all tax documents were sent, and I had to pay a CPA a 2nd time to amend my tax returns. USAA has gone through too many changes & cannot manage all that they are trying to do. The people on the phone are nice, but say that they can't fix any of these... Read More

It is time to leave USAA the management has changed. They used to be the best insurance company, but over the last 20 years they have dropped to a B rating. They take anybody now not just military. I have over an 800 credit rating, but I can't a loan from them. I can never talk to anybody in person. I am going back to State Farm where I feel like an actual person. Their insurance coverage is usually about half of what it should be, so plan on losing money if you have to make a claim.

USAA quotes you a homeowners price and then changes it, and even posts the change under the wrong area - I assume so you don't see it. Worst company to deal with - but they all say "Yes Sir - Yes Ma'am" because that makes everything better.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND anyone use this company! Here's why: I joined USAA when I was active duty and have now been a member for over 45 years. During that time I have watched USAA deteriorate in it's quality and customer service, especially after it was allowed to move into banking and financial services, and increased it's control over additional options to fleece it's customers. In my 45 plus years I've submitted 3 claims two of which were for auto accidents (that were not my fault) both times the other drivers (one a USAA member) ran either a stop sign or stop light and totaled my cars. In both cases I had to fight to get even enough money to get a replacement vehicle anywhere near... Read More

I filed a claim on my home in September of this year. I've turned in all the paperwork, police report, invoices ( I already paid out of my pocket.) totaling over $15,000. I've been getting the run arounds from their field claim adjuster. All I'm getting is useless apologies and no action on getting my claim paid. USAA how you got a 4.5 rating is beyond me this is my very first ever claim on my house and you all failed me big time. I got auto insurance, renters insurance, with them as well. Guess what after this I won't anymore

USAA terminated my homeowners insurance due to claims history 3 of which were catastrophic and out of my control and over the course of 3 years. Hurricanes in 2016 and 2018. The other two they were helpful and smooth but had i known ultimately i would be terminated i would have paid out of pocket or counted them as losses. I am disgusted seeing as my business has gone to them for over 10 years and while they have done their job each time, ultimately this is the reward. They are good as long as you don't actually need to use them. Save yourself the frustration and go with someone else that doesn't count catastrophic events against you. Now I am blacklisted from major insurance companies... Read More

I filed a claim in October for leaks in my roof that stained the ceiling in three separate locations. USAA recommended a "preferred" provider in my area. I had the provider take a look at the interior and roof of my home. They told me I had hail damage and needed a full roof replacement. They took pictures, submitted evidence and waited... and waited... and waited... January came, still no response from USAA (I had called and left several messages at this point, the provider had as well). I called the main office and asked to speak to a supervisor, and they finally responded to the work request and asked for more photos. The provider sent the roofer back out to take more pictures and... Read More

I am retired, a veteran and been a loyal customer with USAA for over 57 years. I have not filed any significant claims over the years. My recent renewal notice indicated an increase of nearly $1,000 or 25% in my insurance premiums. I called USAA to find out what was going on. In the last few years I have had increases but accepted them without concern or investigation, assuming that USAA was still doing its best to serve and support its veteran base. However, after reviewing all my policies in detail with USAA, I came to the conclusion that USAA has significantly changed its underwriting algorithms and is now only interested in increasing its bottom line. Consequently, I have... Read More

We've been USAA Homeowners members at least 13 years. We had a bathroom toilet leak, caused 7000.00 in damage. They were great to work with fixing the damage. Just got our new annual premium and they raised our annual rate to over 1000.00 dollars. Amica can beat them by 1300.00 dollars a year. So it's been fun USAA but we're moving on to a different high quality company.

I’m in process for a water leak now. 3 weeks still waiting for claim approval. Adjuster stopped taking my calls 2 days in and when I finally got a warm body on phone he started denying coverage for little things that should be covered. I’m getting run around. I’ve been with usaa since 1966 as a 2nd Lt. Not happy.

I have been a USAA member since 1999 and have never made any claims against my property. I recently made legitimate claims for damage done to my property from a water leak into my subfloor and ceiling. Gratefully, USAA took care of the costs, however to our surprise and great disappointment, our policy is getting canceled by USAA, due to our claims. I have been a loyal member of USAA for 20 years this is a slap in the face. I plan on looking into other options for insurance coverage and FIND ANOTHER BANK. In the end, USAA is another thug on the street.

Husband is a vet & we are so very displeased with this insurance company. As far as we are concerned, they actually stole our money. Our homeowners policy was cancelled without prior notification ( they said we were sent notification ) We weren't and did not suspect because we were suppose to have been on a direct payment through our checking account. ( but their error, because it hadn't been done. But, as we were told that we were being reinstated and all we had to do was send back paperwork. So we did. Then after we questioned why the rate was raised, so much in one year, we were told by a representative that it had been due to an Ohio yearly rate hike for everyone. We... Read More

To Whom it May Concern: My name is James R Garza and I have been a member since 1999 with USAA/Foremost Insurance and I have never filed a claim to replace roof and now that I do Foremost rejected my claim. I informed them I had wind damage on my roof from hurricane Harvey, I waited 7 days for the to contact me and no one called until the day I was having a new roof being installed. They ran out here fast but the roof had been taken down but I had pictures to show them and they still rejected my claim. Is this the company you recommend to Military Member because they are cheating the Veterans out of a lot of money. I have paid thousands of dollars over the amount of years I've been with... I have been with USAA n my home for 6 years. the coast has jumped 400. 00 in 12 months for the same insurance policy with no claims in 6 years . I called to ask why and was told the coast to replace just the dwelling jumped from 265,000 to 337,000. in 12 months. I bout fell out of the chair laughing. I then asked where they got there information from because I had been getting quotes from other big companies and they have been around 268,000 to 280,000 to replace. The person on the line said: , for instance a movie star moved in next door that would make the coast of the house to replace to go up. When I stopped laughing and could speak again. USAA customer service is complete trash. Ive been in constant battle with the company since I started business with them. To put things in perspective I had everything with USAA. My mortgage, home owners insurance, car payment, car insurance, credit card and personal property insurance.Ill spare all the details but USAA managed to completely mess up all those accounts in one year. They had me paying car insurance twice a month some months ( one month they tried to convince me that i had to pay them $700 but couldnt tell me why), raised my premium almost double and had an attitude when i called and asked about it. They ruined the escrow account for my house taxes and told me that was just... Read More

I recently made a claim for damage done to my property from a leak from a pipe in my bathroom wall.As this was discovered ,further investigation revealed the growth of mold on walls in the garage storage closets and the wood floor of a closet. My claim was denied because the time limit had expired in which the claim had to be made.I sought help as soon as this leak was visible to me, yet no compassion was shown.I have been a loyal member of U.S.A.A. I have been insured with USAA for approx. 3 years and have been very please with their level of customer service. Over these few years I have filed multiple claims with my home and cars due to no fault of my own. I have experienced lightening damage to my house and a tree falling onto the roof. I have a few claims with my automobiles due to uninsured or under insured motorist. USAA did not give me any problem with these claims. They were very responsive to my calls and move the claim swiftly. I have been very pleased with them. The only concern I have is the substantial increase in my policy over these few years. I expect it to increase but not this much. I believe USAA is a great... Read More

I switched to USAA Homeowner's Insurance about 5 years ago because I heard they were a good company. My experience to date does not at all reflect that rating. In fact, I have found USAA Insurance the worst in customer service and ease of dealing with of any insurance carrier that I have used over the past 50 years! Start off with their ridiculous call center. First you get an automated menu that you have to navigate through. Then you finally get an agent. Perhaps 1 of 4 are a knowledgeable and able to help. For instance, with my homeowner's insurance I own two vacant lots in my IRA. The policy states that it covers vacant lots that you own, but since the title is slightly... Read More
