I had a truly horrible experience with Travelers homeowner's insurance after dealing with a pipe leak in my condo. After an initial representative visited to assess the leak, it was like pulling teeth to get ahold of anyone. The response time to my emails and calls was very long and the entire process from leak to fixed floors took 7 months. We lived for that length of time with exposed concrete floors and nails sticking out of walls. We were reassigned multiple times to different representatives without our knowledge, and each time the new representative was not up-to-date on our issue. Believe what we're saying here! Have filed a claim myself and they quote less than half what contractors here charge. Trying to get adjustment, and was able to pay to rip out damaged walls but can't put them back up until I save. Have waited over 4 months now. Better off setting money aside for disaster, but of course, a mortgage requires insurance. Will certainly seek out another company if any are left with integrity.
Astonished at gentleman waiting over a year for claim. How go they expect people to live with destroyed homes??!!??
We had a pipe in our bathroom ceiling causing water damage. The mold needed to be removed the fixtures put back in place, We are receiving bills directly from vendors wanting payment. We have been unable to communicate with the adjuster. It is almost impossible to reach him by phone. We are elderly people, and too many people involved and who to pay and not to pay is overwhelming. I don't think we have received the time and attention to get the bathroom back in order. The incident happened on April 4th. It is now 4 weeks later. Venders are asking for money, and nothing has been in the way of restoration.
Going through a nightmare with a water damaged floor that 4 flooring companies have said could not be repaired and needs to be replaced, yet Travelers continues to try and find a company that will do the repair but offers no warranty on the repair. Taken six months now and still no closer to getting floor repaired, or any kind of resolution. Stay away from Travelers !!
It feels bad logging in to travelers.com to see smiling families enjoying their safety and well being meanwhile my family has been stepping in between rusty nails in our destroyed floor for over a month with no response from travelers. Daily follow-ups, Four claim agents, one internal complaint, and one state department of insurance complaint has yielded no meaningful response. Avoid Travers at all costs if you love your family.
Lies and more lies....I literally only have this company for less than a month and could not get anybody to tell the same story more than once. Depending on who you talk to they were either rude or just plain incompetent. I was able to luckily go back to my old insurance where they actually pride themselves on being honest as well as helpful. Even got attitude from the manager I spoke with. No wonder their business is suffering. If you have any common sense you will not get insurance with this company.
I will be telling everyone I can reach both in social media and beyond that Travelers is a company no one should deal with. We never ever make claims and we had travelers as our carrier. We had our camper break while on vacation out of state. It took almost 4 months and a few agents to get the thing repaired so we could bring it home. Then yesterday we get a letter saying they are raising our insurance to a $1,000 dollars and we are no longer covered! WOW awesome company (NOT)
Worst Insurance EVER! Readjusted my premium and they requested 2 payments from my mortgage company for my escrow leaving my escrow account NEGATIVE $3000!!!!!!!!! They could not overnight me any reimbursement or help expedite the process whatsoever even though this was their fault. They took absolutely NO ownership and I will absolutely be moving my insurance to another company!
I lived in the same location over 40 years and I a several years back switched to Travelers. I never had any major claims with the previously insurance Companies. I did changed to combine auto and house insurance for a better rate. Was a mistake. On January 9 2018, I had a loss due to freezing weather and by Jan 9, 2018 I filed my claim. Travelers is the worst insurance company. The customer service is at best appalling. I am truly disappointed with the way in which they have handled my claim. I believe that if I pay my insurance on time that when I comes to pay a claim their payment should also be as expeditious. So much for expectations. Beware and stay away. this company deserves negative stars.
I would not recommend this company to anyone anymore i was with them for over 7 years and they cancelled my policy due to none payment when i was under the impression that the young lady on the other end was doing an automatic payment with me im disappointed with them they wouldn't even help me all they could say is im sorry your going to have to find another isurance company .
Recently I switched to Travelers because I got a call from a guy named Tyler Amodeo who works at SurexDirect which is a broker company stating that he can get me a good quote for auto insurance for two cars I own and he lied saying that but that is only possible if I buy tenant insurance as well. While buying the insurance plan I asked him that I’m planning to sell one of my cars in the middle of the one year insurance term so will the discount still continue and he said yes. Now I got rid one of the vehicles and they just removed $20 from my monthly bill cycle and when I tried cancelling the insurance he told me about the cancelation fee which he never mentioned about it until I decide... Company did all it could to get out of the claim for foundation-related issues. Very unsupportive throughout. Appalling experience. Will be revisiting my loyalty to the company which was not there when I needed it the most.
Ive had Travelers for over 35 years put in one claim over 30 years ago due to snow damage. The other day i called because I had a water issue (and some mold) and because i didn't see it (within 2 weeks) ( and i told them i do not know how long it was leaking) Im out on my own. Thanks Travelers for NOT having my back. So i guess ill be on the computer tonight looking for a new home owners, auto, motorcycle and snowmobile insurance company. So now my weekend will be spent ripping out my kitchen. Again Thanks for NOTHING

By far the worst home insurance I’ve ever had! Gave a feeling that they only want to collect money from me, but when I need them. They just dumped me! I had on basement pipe burst in 2014. It got covered. But I didn’t realize that claim trun to be a killer of my home insurance. I was not able to switch home insurance anymore because of this claim, which is not much. Only $10,000 that fixed my whole basement. After that I bought a new house and leave my old house as a rental. Called travelers, said they won’t sell me a policy because I had a claim in past 5 years. Excuse me?! I thought insurance is for accident and unexpected situation! Bait and switch. They will quote you one price online. Then when you go to purchase the policy, they'll tell you that the online system quotes the "silver" package which they are unable to sell you, and that all they can sell is the "gold" package.
Horrible ! I had a flood in my basement and they took 6 days to send an adjuster and would not confirm coverage and were reviewing the claim for 10 days and paid out as little as possible and were skeptical and critical of all the damages and the adjuster seemed clueless, rude and not very obliging or helpful either !
These people just can't seem to get anything right. They are the worst company to deal with. Because of their repeated mistakes, I am now canceling all three of my policies with them. They should be at the bottom of the pile.

I filed a homeowners claim for a burglary of My home which occurred in February. It is now almost November and I have not been reimbursed for the stolen items! I have had Homeowners insurance since 1980 and in that time have only had one minor claim for storm damage. So this would represent the second claim in almost 37 years. To add insult to injury, the investigator was very accusatory towards me and said that if I dropped the claim now that He wouldn't investigate any more, but if not, I could face jail time!
