Over 2 years waiting for a roof claim - we continue to get water damage every time it rains, new areas of interior celling damage in over 5 rooms now - and they just ask you to file a new clam yet do nothing about the fact that the roof needs fixing first. We are continually told to find out if replacement shingles are available- which they are not, and even if they were they available, they would not match the old ones on my roof due to wear and exposure to elements over the last 20 years. Even the manufacture told us they will not match, and we will have a patchwork quilt on our roof, to which the State Farm rep responded " oh they don't have to match as long as they are the same... I am a State Farm customer. I have all of my insurance with State Farm; home and auto. Last year my neighborhood experienced a thunderstorm/hail event. State Farm paid for an immediate neighbor’s claim for their roof and gutters -replaced. They had an old roof. Even though I have damage, State Farm’s first inspection would not recognize any damage! I asked for a second inspection which saw damage to gutters and metal roof valleys. My asphalt roof is relatively new now has observed damage - but State Farm will not recognize damage that matches State Farm guidelines. Even though my newer roof doesn’t show damage like my neighbors old roof both were damage! Why pay for insurance?! Or be... Read More
I found State Farm handling of a claim made last month to be misleading, malicious and manipulative. State Farm's so called claims adjuster failed to carefully observe the facts, and found different pretexts for avoiding a claims settlement. I was shocked and completely dissuaded from recommending State Farm in the future and will reconsider using them when my policy ends. The agent in McLean Virginia gave initial information regarding how the claim would be honored and under what circumstances they would disallow appearance of water in a basement and then completely twisted the story.
i would make sure when you make a claim with state farm ins you hire a lawyer to go through the claims with you, i been a customer with them for 40 years plus and have only 2 claims, was very happy with first claim this 2nd claim Sate Farm has been very unpleasent to deal with,
What they do should be illegal. Who protects the Homeowner? My husband had them for over 20 years, his parents had them ... There is no loyalty. They continuously raise your insurance rates for no reason. Will literally say that a new customer will pay less than someone that has kept coverage with them for over 20 years ... Arbitrarily up your homeowner coverage amount to charge you more money ... Bombard you with confusing, worthless garbage statements so you can’t see they are constantly raising your rates ... Just don’t even start with them.
State Farm is not "like a good neighbor...". It denied my claim for very extensive water damage caused by a shut off ball valve leak. SF claimed the valve was old, failed because it probably was turned on and off too much, and that it probably was installed incorrectly. All of these assumptions are inaccurate. Also, SF denied the claim because, according to their agents, in the fine print of its policy, it states SF does not cover most plumbing failure damages unless caused by freezing. It would cover, however, damage from a leaking old water heater, which is a case of inconsistent logic. Certainly many houses have plumbing that fails and causes damage, and obviously owners buy... Well I TRIED! 38 years paying your company approx 194,000! Now I’m done and what I mean is your company has worn me down! My husband said NO MORE! Time for an attorney. We’ve never had a claim & your adjuster used pricing from the 1950’s. I reached out to my agent and asked for the procedures, thankfully I have in writing. Then I quote “oh she didn’t mean that” SERIOUSLY? Then it’s they need this- I provide- now it’s something else. I have a hard copy of policy that I requested before storm- guess what NOTHING MATCHES what I’m being told. If there was a rating below zero, that would be what I would give. So FRUSTRATED
Have been with State Farm for 32years, made 1st homeowner claim ever...one month ago, then received a letter from SF indicating they dropped me my HO policy. No communication from agent or ratitional
State Farm's homeowner's policies are riddled with exclusions, including damage caused by corrosion. Many homes built prior to 1972 contain galvanized pipes, which eventually corrode and cause damage. When this happens, you will be on your own if your homeowners policy is with State Farm!
They take your money fast, But don't like to pay claims. State farm is the biggest scammer of them all. They are going to hell in a hand basket....
State Farm insurance is not as good as the commercials and agents suggest. Even if you pay your insurance every month on time, you can have a different claims two to three years apart and they will find a way to drop you. I wish their was half a star(1/2 star rating). State Farm really stinks!!!!
I have had only State Farm insurance for both my cars and homes for 40 years. I have had a bad two years and my shed fell under the heavy weight of snow and this was my third claim between 1995 and 2015 and they made me increase my deductible to $1000 in order not to loose my insurance. Then I had a power surge 8 months later. I spent over $1500 to have the meter box on my pole replaced and when the electric came back on most of my appliances and my furnace were not working. I called State Farm in case I needed to replace my 4 year old furnace. I ended up loosing all the appliances but the furnace was fixable so I did not submit anything so I didn't loose my insurance. Now 10... Read More
