We have homeowners Insurance with Safeco and have for decades. We have never had a claim. We just received a rate increase of 75% as of 07/2024 from 06/2024. This rate increase is ridiculous to pass onto us. I knew rates were said to increase but this is unacceptable, especially for a homeowner who has never had a claim. Our rate jumped from $1,875.00 per year to $3,279.00 per year. We used to stand by recommending Safeco but no longer. We will be shopping around on this one. Unbelievable. Sure, wish I could give you zero stars.

HORRIBLE - STAY AWAY You only pay for what you need, I paid and they happily took the premiums and I paid for a lot of coverage on a small custom home. I have had a water loss and they sure do not pay you what is needed for repairs. Their estimate is less than 10% of what is needed and the description from the adjuster is so bad it is embarrassing almost beyond words. I requested over a dozen times for this to be reviewed and adjusted and met with one excuse after another. We have been lied to, short paid on the cost of the initial demo and dry out where we are out of pocket tens of thousands of dollars, they have adjusted there estimate to about 25% of what we have bids for to replace... Run as far away as you can from this both names. Safeco/Liberty Mutual homeowner's claim department is a scam. We filed the wind/hail roof damage claim before 2 months, they sent out their own different inspectors four times already and they all said the roof is severely damaged and needs to be replaced. Hail were about baseball size and penetrated through the picnic tables in the backyard leaving large holes. It was severe. Still the company denied the claim and wants to pay only to repair the roof, which is impossible. We had 3 reputed local roofers came out and inspected roof from our side, all expressed same opinion about there no way this roof can be repaired, it must be replaced.... Read More
We were caught in a windstorm of 35-40 mph sustained winds and gusts up to 70 mph which damaged our motor coach. Safeco said they had received the photos and estimate and a few days later sent me a text saying they had paid the RV shop. Unbeknownst to us they were actually only going to pay $1200 out of a $13,000 claim. They not only have refused to pay the claim, their adjuster called the paint shop where the paint portion was going to be done and were so obnoxious that the paint shop has refused the job. Meanwhile they were telling me I needed to let them work with the RV shop and the paint shop. They haven’t paid anything and I don’t think they will unless forced. It’s been six... Read More
Buyer beware. Started great and then almost tripled my rate when I added my daughter. Claimed they sent this information via email, but no record in my inbox.
Safeco/Liberty Mutual is the worst insurance company I have dealt with. I won’t even give them a one starI would give them a 0 star. I had them for six years. Filed a claim which they denied claim and closed it out then dropped me for renewal for filing claim. I would not recommend Safeco/Liberty Mutual to anyone.
Claims adjuster Kent Stiles concocted a plan with preferred contractor Vince Paglia of Protech Construction to plunder my claims account. Stiles has held my claim file in restriction for a full year, refusing to provide documentation to support the decision to tear down my home and leave me in a worse condition than I was before I filed my claim. It took 19 days to get an initial response from Safeco to my claim, which happened three years ago on Earth Day. My home was torn down and rebuilt without plans. Kent Stiles signed off on the demolition and rebuild, then claimed he didn't. Paglia, who came to my home and told me to my face that my home could not be repaired because I had no... Read More
