Overall Rating: 3.5 / 5 (Very good)

Evaluating Signia hearing aids is difficult because the brand is so new. Although the brand is essentially a continuation of the Siemens line of hearing aids, it's not possible at this point evaluate which of the old Siemens products are the same as the new Signia products. Still, three facts are worth noting. One is that Siemens, overall, has a great reputation for engineering and design. The second is that Signia offers an unusually broad range of products with a great many high-end features. And the third is that Signia is self-described as the premium brand of the Sivantos group that owns a number of different hearing aid companies. From these facts, consumers should be cautiously confident in Signia's ability to deliver a good state-of-the-art product.

Signia Product Offerings

Hearing Aid Style - 3.5 / 5

Signia's most significant strength lies in the breadth of its product line and the numerous features that it puts into its hearing aids. The company has moved deeply into the development of hearing aids that are compatible with a number of external devices--mobile phones, computers, televisions, tablets, personal digital assistants, etc.

Signia Additional Services

Features and Price - 3.5 / 5

Signia offers a hearing test in the form of a downloadable smartphone app. Its website is very informative about hearing loss issues, though unfortunately the search feature on the site makes locating specific information difficult. Information about trial periods and financing may be obtainable from a hearing professional.

Signia Pricing

Battery Life - 3.5 / 5

Signia hearing aids are sold to consumers by hearing professionals. Further, their wide range of products and features create a myriad of price points. For those reasons, pricing information is not available online. Consumers are advised to consult with their hearing professionals and to get a quotes from more than one brand of hearing aids.

Signia After-Sale Service

Customer Experience - 3.5 / 5

Signia does not publish any information about its product support. There is a web form on the company's website that people can use to make comments and ask questions, but there are no phone numbers, email addresses, or chat lines through which a customer can obtain product support. Presumably support can be obtained through the prescribing hearing professional, but this is hardly a substitute for knowledgeable support personnel. Signia does not appear to publish any warranty details on its site and the search feature on its website is not functioning. Possibly these oversights are due to the newness of the Signia brand, but given the depth of experience and financial resources the company commands, it's disappointing that the company keeps potential customers of an expensive product line in the dark about key after-sale services.

Signia Reputation

Reputation - 3.5 / 5

Since Signia is a new name in the hearing aid industry, it hasn't yet established an online reputation. There is nothing about the brand on the BBB website and very little on Trustpilot. But though the brand is new, Signia hearing aids were formerly known as Siemens products, and Siemens is a well-respected company.

I am having a terrible time with wax and battery life [rechargeable ] model. I have been wearing hearing aids for over thirty years and have never had this much trouble. the left aid has very low power supply and has gone out on several occasions. the tech says I should charge them more often. I have had them since Sept. and the problem has gotten worse. any suggestions?

The fit is VERY comfortable and my hearing specialist, Megan Alford, at the Audiology & Hearing Aid Clinic was amazing and helpful.

I have had my signia hearing aids just over three months. I’ve been back with them three times and on one occasion asked for a full refund. However I was persuaded to give the centre where I have had hearing aids for more than eight years an opportunity to resolve problems, these included, painful fit, one battery that discharged after eleven hours, and reduced hearing compared with my old hearing aids. A recent review went badly wrong due to computer connection difficulties and I was left with several settings disconnected. I would not recommend Signia. Rodger D, Lanzarote, Canary Islands

Worst customer service I have ever experienced in my 70.5 years! I bought a pair of Signia 5 aids and the left one is defective. I have unanswered emails and cannot find a number to call them. I hope they read this!

On 12/5/2018 in central Indiana I was given a hearing test by my audiologist. A salesman recommended the Signia brand. There were 3 models supposedly with different levels of performance; 3 Nx , 5Nx, and 7Nx. The prices were $5000, $6000, and $7000! He did mention a trade-in of my old hearing aides for the value of $1000. He played background noise while talking to me, and I must admit the performance was impressive. I would definitely want to try them for the 30 day trial before making a decision as real world experiences are impossible to duplicate in an office setting. I rely on Consumer Reports for many things and this brand was not one of the 15 brands listed. If I hadn't just... Read More

No Phone number? Scary. Especially for seniors. How can we trust a company that begins a relationship by hiding? Also, this discriminates against those who don't email - seniors, certain religions, poor....

I have high frequency hearing loss which my new charge and go devices have addressed superbly. The feature I am most impressed with is the tinnitus masker. Having had tinnitus so severe I have resorted to banging my head against my headboard...yes, it WAS that maddening. The masker has reduced my condition to almost nil. This is as good as the best Christmas I ever had- better, actually. Only someone with tinnitus can understand what I had been feeling. All I can say is, do yourself a favor and get your hearing tested and perhaps you will have results comparable to mine. I could go on and on, but I am busy hearing sounds I never heard before. These little marvels are worth more than... Read More
