Overall Rating: 4 / 5 (Very good)

PetPlate's recipes are specially formulated by veterinarians. There's plenty of evidence that the ingredients in HealthyPlate's meals support healthy weight and digestion and provide benefits such as improved energy and even cancer prevention. But the company also differentiates itself through the feeding and pricing flexibility it offers.

You can order enough food to provide all of your dog's nutrition through PetPlate. But the company also packages its food in "topper" containers. So if you can't quite afford to fully feed fresh foods, you can still add them to your dog's normal diet without breaking the bank. Toppers are also a smart way to transition your pup from one food to another.

PetPlate Customer Experience

Customer Experience - 4 / 5

PetPlate earns an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau. There have been no complaints filed about the company with the BBB. The company has a rather poor Trustpilot score (2.6 out of 5 stars) but that average score is based on just a handful of reviews. The company was afforded a modicum of fame for being featured on the popular TV show, Shark Tank. Most reviews of the company we've read agree that PetPlate provides excellent nutrition for dogs.

Our dog loved the tail wagging turkey, original recipe. Then, a few months later, the company changed the recipe and our pup would sniff and walk away from her bowl. They took out the pumpkin and wild rice and even changed the cooking method! ( not to mention that the website still advertises the original recipe ). So, I had to give away 35 containers of food. Very disappointed at turn of events and the loss of over $140 in food.

I placed my first order about 3 weeks ago. My dog has been eating the food since then. We phased her in, but she has totally lost her enthusiasm for food. She used to leap into the air and run around the kitchen full speed while waiting for her food. Now she just stares at me while I prepare it. But I don't have any real problem with the ingredients. It is the TERRIBLE packaging. They advertise it as recyclable but don't believe it! The container is #5 plastic, and I have never lived anywhere that will accept #5 for recycling. The lid has no # at all. Remember that you will be using one of these containers every single day! By the end of the year, you will have thrown away 365... Read More

I’ve been feeding my dogs Petplate for over two years. I would highly recommend. I’m surprised to see some comments criticize their customer service as I’ve only had good experiences.
