For my trash compactor service call: Service man came an hour and a half after the 6 hour window. Did no diagnostic other than try to pull the drawer out a couple of times, announced that the motor would have to be replaced at a cost of over $600.00 (even though I explained that we had the same problem a year before and the technician fixed it that time without motor replacement), charged me $74 for the "diagnostic" and left. Two days later, I fooled around with it and fixed it. I couldn't be more disgusted with this service call.

PRO: This is a good service to have if you have old appliances in your home AND if an unexpected appliance repair or new appliance purchase would potentially bust your family budget. Make monthly payments. There is a one-year obligation. Pay a deductible for each appliance repair. You can bundle more than one appliance at one time and pay only one deductible. You can take advantage of your first appliance repair as soon as you join. After this, there is a 30-day waiting period before you can have any other appliances repaired. Sears will give you a Sears voucher to purchase a brand new appliance if it proves that your old appliance is NOT worth repairing. CON: Customer... Read More

Do not have this company out to repair your appliances. I have been without use of my washer and dryer on and off for a month. (Mostly no use of for a month) They are throwing parts on them not knowing if will correct the problem Or not and I still do not have use of them. They called Sunday and verified my appointment for Monday between 8 and 12. They called Monday at 11:32 and canceled the appointment stating sears didn’t schedule a helper to sit the dryer back up on top of the washer and wanted to reschedule for the 23rd. I said “no do not reschedule because I and going to call and have them call you to come and repair the washer and set a later date to lift dryer up on top.” I... Read More

I am writing this review for everyone to see that has ever bought an appliance or thinking of buying an appliance from SEARS! We bought 5 major appliances from Sears here in Richmond,Va. in April of 2018. We also paid $2000 for their extended warranty. In that short time our Kenmore Pro refrigerator has stopped cooling, and we have no refrigerator! I called Sears when we noticed the freezer was not freezing properly and they said they would be out in 3 weeks! I argued and pleaded for them to come, and their response was ”We are sorry and apologize for any inconvenience.” I explained that I was having major surgery on Sept. 18 and we needed a working refrigerator. I received the same... Read More

I have a Sears Kenmore Pro double wall oven which was purchased in 2012. After one year the oven temperature would go completely out of control: set it for 300 and it would rise above 500 degrees. I have had almost every part (save the display) replaced on this oven. I have had no less than six visits by technicians to try to solve this issue. When I or my wife call Sears, the what is told by the 800 number personnel is usually BS. We have been told that parts will be with the technicians and when the technician shows up the parts have not even been ordered. This has happened twice. We are on our second warranty and continually paying for a warranty that is not inexpensive and... Read More

After the third visit to repair our dishwasher the technicians left the dishwasher in disrepair with and error code on it an claimed it was perfectly fixed.. There is no one that we can call and address the issue.. the only way is to reschedule. Another day wasted in waiting for service. Most of their technicians do not know their assignments and show up up not having been trained on the appliances they need to repair. Extrmey frustrating to say the least..

If you like getting screwed out off a $100 dollar really quick, this is the place to call. 1st of all the repair guy (looked like AND SMELLED like a homeless person with the long hair and beard) showed up, didn't say who he was or what company he was with, just barged in the door and said he was here to repair my oven. After looking at it for less than 30 seconds, he tells me what the problem was and said it would be $340 to fix it. I told him that I could not afford that. He then tells me that I own him $107 for coming to my house, after doing no more than opening the oven door! Then says "your choice mister, $340 to fix it or $107 for him telling me what was wrong". I told him to... Read More

PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING FROM SEARS. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND EMPLOYEES EVER. PURCHASED A KENMORE ELITE REFRIGERATOR THAT IS LESS THAN A YEAR AND A HALF OLD. I UNDERSTAND THAT THINGS HAPPEN, IT'S LIFE. WHAT I FOUND UNREASONABLE IS THAT SEARS EXPECTED ME TO WAIT OVER A WEEK JUST TO DIAGNOSE WHAT WAS WRONG WITH OUR REFRIGERATOR, SO WE HAD SOMEONE COME AND DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. IT NEEDED A COMPRESSOR AND A DRIER. CALLED SEARS TO SEE ABOUT WARRANTY AND THEY SAID COMPRESSOR WAS COVERED BUT NOT THE DRIER OR THE LABOR. NEVER DURING THE MANY PHONE CALLS (OR WHEN WE PURCHASED IT) WERE WE TOLD THAT IF WE HAD SOMEONE OTHER THAN A SEARS TECHNICIAN COME AND LOOK AT OUR APPLIANCE THAT IT... Read More

Like so many others, I would not give Sears any stars if that were possible. A Sears repairman, Errol, had to come the other day to find out what why our kind of pricey (for us) LG dishwasher less than a year and a half old wasn't working---again. He fiddled with the bottom and said there was power to it, so he would have to check it further. After telling us it was $99. just to come and find the issue, he now said it would be ANOTHER $50. to 'look at other areas of it to find the problem'! I was shocked at that, and it didn't seem right, but I said to go ahead. After a few minutes (he couldn't even get the dishwasher out of it's spot until I fiddled with a screw myself as my husband was... Read More
