Hidden fees. Difficult customer service. I implore you to never join this wine club. It is clear this business makes money by tricking its customers into paying for things they did not know about nor intend to pay. Customer service is difficult and seemingly outright dishonest based on my experience with them thus far (committed to refunding me as a "one-time exception", although I have still not received the refund that was promised nearly 2 weeks later). This started out as a great wine club, but then we started getting wine that we didn't order. The first time it happened I thought is was my fault, then it happened 2 more times! Customer service said that I must have entered the order accidently. I quit opening emails and still got an unauthorized order. They told me to refuse the order but their delivery service leaves it on my porch without getting a signature. The last unauthorized case purchase was half a case. We'll see if they correct the problems but according to the reviews they are not very good at that. Stay away. The wine is good but there is something very wrong with the way they do business.

After the initial order of wines, the subsequent boxes were shipped. They increase the changes month to month without notifying you. Because they wanted to, they sent me 5 bottles instead of 2 bottles and charged me for it. Saying I can return but there is a $30 return for restocking. Don't sign up.

This wine club is the biggest rip off establishment of all time and should be closed down! After introductory offer of poor quality wine they charge me $150 for next shipment of 6 shitty wines. Called customer service to cancel and they confirmed. Still no email confirmation. Calling bank next to dispute charges.
9/12020: I Grabbed introductory offer from Acorns.com for $40+ called the American Cellars Wine club. While on the site (on a Saturday) I clicked the World of Wines club link to investigate and was IMMEDIATELY charged for joining the new club. I expected to be able to review and confirm before being charged. The total charge to my card was $164, I assumed it was for 12 bottles of wine (6 intro wines + 6 new club wines). 9/14/2020: I could not reach customer service (chat/email ONLY) until after the weekend and by then they said it was too late to cancel. Don't trust this wine club. I think it's a scam. You have to read the fine print. If you return an order for for $157.20-minus 50% restocking fee, plus minus shipping fee $28.00. Refund is $106.60 No stars
Club does not notify you in advance of shipments! That's how they make money! you CANNOT CANCEL even if your shipment has not been processed yet! Ridiculous!
I cancelled my subscription after just one shipment. The wines were just average and the bottles had obviously been sitting on the shelf for a while because the corks crumbled when I tried to take them out. It was impossible to remove them without the whole cork coming apart.
When cancelled my subscription, they said I had a shipment that was too far in the process to be cancelled (more than a week away). If I hadn't gone on the website I wouldn't have known there was a shipment in process.
They told me I could refuse the shipment, but they would charge me $28 for shipping and handling and $15 restocking fee.
Don't waste your money on this racket.
Clearly predatory business model. Wine is terrible. Introductory offer serves to acquire customers, price after 1st months doubles, and cancellation is made difficult and time-consuming. Having tried one shipment of red wines from Vinesse, I would not pay over $5 per bottle at a wine store.
Club does not notify you in advance of shipments. Nor do they provide customer support via phone. I left phone message to cancel membership and they've made two more shipments which I have refused and disputed on my credit card account.

Placed an order very confident that this would be as good as other wine clubs that I’m part of. My order of 6 bottles came with only 4 in a stained and sticky box. It looked like 2 bottles broke and it messed up everything else. Too bad I can’t post a picture of it here. Besides that, they placed my second order without letting me know, no tracking number and neither details of what I was going to get. I found out only because my credit card was charged $150 and I was like “what is this”. I recently purchased an introductory order. I am trying very unsuccessfully to reach someone to let them know I will not be able to accept any additional orders because I will be out of town. After trying to reach customer service (tried three different phone numbers), I went online for help. No luck. Also noticed quite a few negative comments including BBB comments (not a good sign).

The wines were good but the customer service was disappointing and today I cancelled my subscription. I was a member for about 10 ten years. I have changed my plans a couple of times. I was down to two shipments a year. I never received my last shipment. It took me a while to get through to them to tell them I never received my last shipment. This is a deceptive company, using names like WSJ, etc. Plus, their wine taste awful.
I did not receive any notice prior to their shipments and was out of town/country. They charged me shipping & restocking fees event though all wine was returned. That's 30% net loss for nothing. Two shipments cost me $90.
There are better wine clubs out there, I have had experienced with one that would refund 100%. In hindsight, I should have stick with them.
This outfit sells wines that are not from ANY vineyard you can find. They reported extra wine and repackage it with fake labels. Do not trust Vinesse. They are liars.

They charged $145 on my card without telling me and when i contacted customer support almost immediately, they told me it is "too late" to cancel my "order" and i can refuse the wine but they will still charge me $65 out of the $145 for shipping and restocking? are you kidding me? i contacted them again and yes they pointed me the the fine print of the agreement that they claim "i signed up and legally responsible for". Please do not provide your credit card information to them and spread the word. I normally don't write reviews but i feel the responsibility to let others out there know about this company that is just out there to scam people!
I felt that the wines were fortified with added sugar.
They all had a sweet sugar taste. I think you can do better in a supermarket or wine shop.
I agree with Ron in Dallas. It IS very misleading. My CC was also charged over $150 and the membership worked nothing like the website where I signed up stated. Because I had a hassle getting my money back and membership canceled, I simply reported it to local LEO. They are now doing a follow up for me for Bank Wire Fraud. Total SCAM. Buyer Beware.
I signed up via their American Airlines partnership and my credit card was charged $121 for the 6 wines vs the advertised $41.50. I called customer service and was told the fine print included a 24 month lookback for memberships. I did not know this and was not informed when I signed up for the AA deal that I would be charged full price and S&H. Very misleading! The best they could do for me was offer a 30% discount.
