I have used iPage for about 15 years to host my website and provide security through SiteLock. Assuming that everything was fine, I kept renewing their multiple services every 2-3 years. I recently hired a new web designer to bring our website up to date, just after a round of renewals with iPage. I shelled out over $1,000. Now that the new developer can offer everything that I was getting at iPage, I attempted to cancel my subscriptions. The only thing they could do was have me shut off the Auto Renewal feature. I enquired about a refund and they told me that I would have needed to cancel before the renewal date in order to get a refund. Tom Waits once sang, "The large print giveth... Read More
They refused to give our money back after our site was hacked. Twice! We were unaware they had no plans to upgrade to the latest php version, mysql version and cpanel is not friendly. After cleaning our all of our files, we had to purchase new hosting and shift all files there, including costs for our webmaster to do so.
I am extremely concerned and would like to know how I can do an investigation. I set up an inquiry in May I did not recognize a series of charges combined together, my bank advised after 7 days that I was not able to dispute that I had done business with Ipage previously. I contacted them directly after several attempts , and discovered their prices for services had more than double for each without notice, I was on a auto renewal . I fixed that I was able to get $170.00 of $913.48 . SInce June 2024 out website has been done up after I had to send them my bank statement to show I did not set up the charge back again, after stressful emails and constant messaging it was up for a few weeks... SLEEZY BILLING PRACTICES: They charge you for a renewal well in advance of your annual expiration date. In addition, if you look at your account and billing info, it tells you your expiration date but says nothing about their policy of charging you 15 days in advance, which they trot out when you notice a middle of the night email saying you've been charged and call them to cancel and get a refund. Can't be any more deceptive than that! Even worse, they charged me before the 15 days! IOthers have noted that the vastly increase the fees after the first year, which on review I found also. I was paying $20 per month plus over $200 on renewal. It seems all their emails come in the middle of... Read More
iPage what has happened to you? You no longer have anyone speaking from America's shores! Folks like me that have paid you for hosting and website creation thought you did a good job once upon a time. Now websites crash and the people who are paid to help with Word Press don't answer their phones. Yep, I paid $149. 00 and the first few days were ok. Then I couldn't access my own website and I can't get the help I paid for! Who answers the phone? Ladies who are in some foreign country and don't know what they are doing. iPage you take money for services that are poorly rendered. Don't give the excuse that it's all Covid related because it isn't! Whoever was in charge, you better see... Read More
