It must be said that, because of this, reviews generally trend toward the negative. Although the company has an A+ with the BBB, the majority of criticism tends to be about billing issues and inattentive customer service as opposed to the actual functionality of the hosting package itself. Like most web hosting providers, iPage operates a subscription model which will auto renew after the "initial term." When customers do complain about the tools themselves, complaints center around a lack of flexibility with the website builder, though this is an inherently structured web design environment targeted at beginners.

SLEEZY BILLING PRACTICES: They charge you for a renewal well in advance of your annual expiration date. In addition, if you look at your account and billing info, it tells you your expiration date but says nothing about their policy of charging you 15 days in advance, which they trot out when you notice a middle of the night email saying you've been charged and call them to cancel and get a refund. Can't be any more deceptive than that! Even worse, they charged me before the 15 days! IOthers have noted that the vastly increase the fees after the first year, which on review I found also. iPage what has happened to you? You no longer have anyone speaking from America's shores! Folks like me that have paid you for hosting and website creation thought you did a good job once upon a time. Now websites crash and the people who are paid to help with Word Press don't answer their phones. Yep, I paid $149. 00 and the first few days were ok. Then I couldn't access my own website and I can't get the help I paid for! Who answers the phone?
