You can download the Solitaire Cash app for free. Winning relies on both the luck of the cards and your own skill at playing Solitaire.

The game sets player against player. When playing for cash, the app matches you with one or more players. Both you and your opponents place a bet for the same amount. Let's say two players are playing. You both bet $100. Whoever completes the game first takes the full amount in the pot. Winnings cover your own bet and you win the remaining $100. Game descriptions often overstate winnings by saying you'd win $200 under those circumstances, but your actual winnings are only $100, minus the fee you pay to the app for the pleasure of playing. We noted that the description of the game at the Apple App Store and on Google Play do not mention this fee or how much it is. But the upshot is that you do indeed pay-to-play in some form or another and the "house" always makes money.

In order to play for cash prizes, you must make deposits into your Solitaire Cash account. Deposits are made through Paypal or Apple Pay. You can also withdraw your winnings through these payment apps. From what we could uncover, the game doesn't work with Venmo presently.

You can't play cash games through the app in the following states: Arizona, Arkansas, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, South Carolina, Montana, and South Dakota.

Google Playusers aren't so generous: they give the app just 2.3 out of 5 stars. Online reviews of the game are mixed. Some users experience difficulties just getting the app to work and many complain about the numbers of ads they are forced to watch during the course of play. Advertising is another way Solitaire Cash makes money for its owners, of course.
