Quite possibly the worst provider support ever. Hold times of up to an hour are not uncommon. I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone. It's just too bad this web site requires at least one start before it will submit the review.

My provider has dropped Davis Vision from their practice effective November 1, 2023. They have repeatedly stated issues with materials and craftsmanship of their lens. My last pair (February 2023) were returned 3 times due to this. The office then made me lens which are great. Excellent options offered, but the end product is lacking.

Website, providers, and agents over the phone do not seem to agree on which providers are in network. Hold times are long. Scammier than average for an insurance company, which is saying a lot

Cheaper and can get 2 pair of glasses at Costco for almost half the price what their providers charge. Unfortunately they're a joke provided through employer.

I had Davis Vision through my companies Guardian plan. Coverage during 2022 and had an exam in November and bought glasses. Fast forward to February 2023. Now I get a bill for more money for my glasses. Since company changed carriers and I’m no longer current I can’t get an EOB from last year. I’ve waited a month and still nothing. Called multi times and no help. Can’t access Blaine cause no longer a current customer. Don’t let your company buy from these folks.

They answered the phone after 1 hour of being on hold, then had technical glitch and hung up on me. The automated call back also never works, nobody ever calls back. TERRIBLE customer service. BEWARE.

The list provided for eye exams is not good. I've set appointments up with three, only to find out that they no longer accept Davis Insurance!

Terrible company and I still have no resolution. I submitted a claim on 4/28/22. As of June, they had not received it. Then I faxed it. Apparently there was missing information and they filed it away. I have called several times per month ever since, still have not been reimbursed for my glasses which I purchased in March, 2022. Today I have been on hold for 43 minutes and still nothing. This is, by far, the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with.

Broke my glasses frames . Optiques limited called Davisvision they where 2 weeks out of warranty . The sent me a complete set of glasses at no charge .

They give you an advertising brochure that says pay up to $150 on contact plus 15% over. HOWEVER in the brochure in another place they forget to mention that if you use a out of network provider they will only give you $75. What difference should it make if you can find your contacts cheaper through an out of network provider? They are still saving money. Same with glasses. I have to be able to try my frames on before I buy. I get a pair with lens for $160. They say they will reimburse up to $200. Guess what out of network only $55. AGAIN BAIT AND SWITCH! On hold on and off for over an hour. Eye provider did not submit claim correctly so I had to be out over $200 for over two months. The blame game was played. Provider blamed Davis Vision Davis Vision blamed eye provider. I asked to speak to a supervisor many times. On hold for over an hour! Very very poor customer service. Wish I read these reviews prior to dealing with any of this. Union will have to rethink this insurance.

I am grateful that we have vision coverage and up until now it hasn't been an issue. The problem with Davis is that it is impossible to get hold of them. Their phone system does not provide any option for talking to a person and the online system is also poor. In our case one of our kids hasn't had an eye exam in over a year, but Davis Vision's system is telling the optometrist's office that Davis can't cover his exam because it has been less than a year--which is incorrect. Davis Vision is great for seeing DR co=pays and allowance for glasses. That's where it ends. I have now waited almost 4 weeks to get my glasses and still don't have them. Now they tell me Aug 10th. This is the 3rd date from original of 2 weeks. This also happened with my wife's glasses as well.

I have only been with Davis Vision as it has been my only choice thru my husband's employer. I would never choose them if I had other choices. They are not the patient's advocate. My vision center made a mistake in ordering my glasses and they had to fight Davis to get them to allow a cancellation of the mistake and reissue a correct prescription. We are talking about a bifolcal vs a trifocal. I pay for my own lenses on the plan I have. There is no way I can have corrective vision with a bifocal. They are very difficult to deal with. This is not the first time over the years I have had trouble with them. I cannot even give them one star!

I have BCBS Davis Vision Insurance and am in the process of searching for an excellent eye care provider. So far, the two customer service representatives from Davis, who I was able to reach, only by pressing *0 again and again and again on the BCBS number provided on my card, were great. Friendly, tried to be helpful. That's all that I can say in the positive. They are sending a list of providers who they will honor. Out of network, Davis will only reimburse around $30 or $40 for an appointment that costs $149. I went to an optometrist for a contact evaluation. The contacts I had worn previously were not covered under Davis Vision, at least that's what the optometrist office told me. I was confused, since these contacts were prescribed to me the year before. I called Davis Vision and asked why they would not cover the evaluation when they did the previous year. That's when I was assured by Davis that they were. Then, the representative got me on a 3 way call with the optometrist office and went to bat for me for the over charge, and I was refunded the $130 I was incorrectly charged. After reading the reviews it sounds like I’m better off Not using this insurance at all. I Need an eye doctor and wanted to use Davis because my husband employment provides it. I know how expensive eye doctors can be but is this insurance worth the discount? It doesn’t sound like it. If you only need glasses, maybe it is worth it in that case.

This insurance plan is the worst. No true customer service. Ridiculously antiquated non user friendly website. Improper processing of claims. No explanation of benefits provided. No claims status abilities. Needless levels of encryption on emails. Absolutely horrible.

This has got to be the worst insurance EVER! This all started when my husband and I wanted to get an exam our town has had two providers both of which do not participate in Davis vision anymore. I had set up an appointment at ShopKo and they had called and canceled so that their doctor does not take Davis vision and the other one is leaving so they will not except Davis vision insurance. As soon as they canceled my appointments I called Davis vision on Feb 26...I get hung up on three times and I had talk to four different people that day being on the phone for an hour and 45 minutes I explained my problem and that I needed it a place that excepts Davis vision they could not find none... The worst experience ever. Needed a new script for DMV. Refused to provide it without my paying in advance, which I now understand is illegal. I tried to use the script for contact lenses and discovered it was completely wrong and I couldn't see with the script. Payed a decent optometrist for a brand new script that actually allows me to see. They don't answer calls or emails.

Davis Vision is low rent. You find them at costco and walmarts. The one at costco was esentially in a closet. You will be in and out in 15 minutes. That is not a good thing! They do not reimburse for optic nerve photography which is pretty standard at VSP and other insurers. Getting reimbursed for out of network is difficult. They will deny, if you have even a comma misplaced. Stay away at all costs.

Terrible customer support. They are incapable of processing an out of network claim correctly as they have made errors three years in a row and multiple times this year. DO NOT USE, not worth the hassle and hours spent on there phone with their customer support that have no ability to support.

After spending a large sum of my own money including using up my insurance allowance for the year, the lenses in my prescription sunglass lenses are completely defective in less than two years. Since every provider we go to drops Davis vision we keep moving providers. The provider I got the glasses from did not want to help because we are no longer patients. Davis vision warranty is one year for glasses costing $600. Unfortunately our employer is the one who chose these people but the insurance isn't worth the paper it's written on and why the providers are dropping Davis Vision? Very limited coverage. Their are only two providers who accept this insurance in the 3 closest cities where I live. Customer service is either rude or is unknowledgeable . I can not wait to change insurance as soon as I am eligible. Would give 0 starts if i could.

Absolutely terrible experience. Two orders placed through two different providers. Both providers totally frustrated by the order entry process. which took two weeks for provider-1 and was only resolved by me (the insured) calling Davis. Provider-2 order was accepted, then cancelled. Davis admitted the error and said they would reinstate the order, but did not until two weeks later when I called them. Davis then further delayed the order and refused to expedite it. DO NOT USE DAVIS VISION!
