FlipKey from TripAdvisor Rentals is an online marketplace for vacation rentals. It gives travellers access to over 830,000 properties in 190 countries. It offers a convenient search portal that lets travellers select from a wide selection of vacation rental properties.

FlipKey offers travellers access to more than 830,000 vacation rental properties in 190 countries. This includes vacation rentals such as private islands, ski chalet, beach house, city-center studio, and more. It makes booking accommodations easier by connecting travellers directly with property owners. To get started, travellers can manage their booking and contact owners by simply entering their booking reference and email address.

FlipKey provides a Payment Protection guarantee which allows guests to receive a full refund if the property is misrepresented or prevented or denied access to their rental when checking in. This covers up to $10,000 worth of protection depending on the currency used when booking.

FlipKey also has a Cooling-Off Period that enables travellers to cancel within 24 hours of booking without additional charges. This gives customers a better experience and added flexibility for more bookings. The cooling-off period only applies to booking that are 60 days or more away and after 24 hours, the chosen cancellation policy will be applied as normal.

In case a client cancels a trip due to circumstances such as family bereavement and medical conditions, the company recommends getting in touch with their travel insurance provider for guidance on the necessary documents to support their claim. Cancelling a booking is subject to the vacation rental owner’s cancellation policy conditions and Traveller’s terms of use which includes FlipKey’s Chargeback policy.

This is a total scam! I deposited $1600 against rent, then they ask me for an additional $1000 as a security deposit. They promised to send the documents after I have done all of this. I did all that and now when I had to move, I am out $2600 and no place to stay. And the owner and their customer service both are ignoring me. NEVER USE THIS SITE!!!! I am also filing a case of fraud against them. I will spread the awareness wherever possible. I want this company shut down.

Flip Key is a horrible vacation... Flip Key is a horrible vacation service. They do not provide a 1-800 number for you to call and speak to someone about a refund. They attempt to push you to the owner via website email and the owner encourages you to just hit the cancel button. Upon this action, you will only get HALF a refund. I understand that with COVID-19 there are many things going on, but it is very simple if the airlines you book, has cancelled its flight from United States to Costa Rica during your vacation time, its clear that you will not be in Costa Rica.
