I have 1 unit in LS in Portsmouth NH. In Jan 2024 I was going to change to a smaller unit but I cancelled the smaller unit IN PERSON at the office. I was still being charged for the smallern unit which I had cancelled until this month. When I spoke to manager Matt, he told me that I had not cancelled and I would not be receiving a refund from his Life Storage facility. I asked to speak to his boss and he said he was the boss of LS for all of NH and Mass. Interestingly, he had the wrong payment info for my acct --the credit card I first used to rent the 1st was hacked in Jan. 2023 and was invalid. Matt still insisted that I was incorrect about my payment info. In the mean time, I... Read More
Three years as a customer and I have found that many employees care about service and their customers. Local management has always been slow to address problems, and when Life Storage maintenence work damages customer property they refuse to take action and according to Denoi Fields refuse to assist the third party insurance companies paid for by their customers. Poor management is not worth paying the industry's highest prices.
Low online prices are a scam. Been in there a couple months and jacked up price with a massive increase. Almost double. Once you move in they can charge you anything they want. This is why they don't do contracts. So they cam bait you in and then rip you off.
The lights have been out for weeks in my unit making it all but impossible to access items in my storage unit. They told me they were understaffed. How many life storage people does it take to change a light bulb?
I reported the problem to them which leads me to believe they don't regularly survey their property to correct deficiencies or they simply ignore the problem until someone complains. After I reported the problem and followed up a full week later when I found they had done nothing, they said they would replace the bulbs at the end of this week. So 2 weeks to replace the light bulbs
i just rented a unit at life storage in hollywood FL. The manager there is so nice and friendly and help you with all your questions even after working hours. I strongly recommend this one 1109 N 21st Ave, Hollywood, FL 33020.
all units are drive up and it opens from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. very convenient.
Poor customer service. Bait and switch price increases. Rude and inconsiderate lower and upper management.
Rent raised twice in 3 months. Despicable money grab from people with few options.
I have been a customer for a couple of years, I have had the same unit (inside temp control). Over the past few years the pricing has increased repeatedly. I called the office to complain about the constant increased pricing and was told that she agrees with my complaint because the company is in the million dollar profit margin. Along with standard price increases comes higher late fees as they do not have a flat fee they do a percentage of your rent so as they increase the fee for the unit you get increased for a late fee. This is sheer greed during a time when people may have lost their homes and are storing their belongings. After several years due to this price monopoly I will be... Read More
Bad Service .....Had two units with…
Bad Service .....Had two units with them and they were great as Old Saybrook Storage. Then LS came in with untrained people (if they had anyone available at all) charged Insurance when they had copies of our rider. Late fee on 1 unit even though we had Autopay ust bad customer service people with bad attitude. Vanessa their Lead Manager spoke over me the entire call stating i was wrong .....not customer service driven .....go somewhere else if you can....all that agro for $70 when we were paying over 500/mth......
After being a good customer, with long term storage, on and off since the Uncle Bobs days, I will be emptying my 2 10x25’s and will NEVER use or recommend life storage ever again. I understand that it is a business and that periodic increases are inevitable but 20% is ridiculous!!!
Will have to go through time and expense to move but will be well worth it in the long run. $558 for 500 square feet when I will be getting 504 square feet for $360. Used to love and highly recommend Uncle Bobs. Have been very disappointed and stressed out with Life Storage…they have become VERY GREEDY!!! Rip off artists…would give them ZERO stars if possible!
I would look elsewhere for your storage needs. While I had a storage unit at the Clifton Park Life Storage facility they had a sprinkler issue that caused hundreds of dollars worth of damage, then when I finally left I was strung along for almost two months about a partial refund promised by multiple employees, only to be told they don't offer partial refunds. Very unprofessional all around, and I would have left sooner if moving wasn't such a pain.
I have been using the Life Storage facility at 1515 AW Grimes in Round Rock, Texas for the past year. I have found Tracy to be pleasant, personable, and most helpful with all my moving needs. Recently, I needed a second unit and she found it for me in record time and it is right across from my other unit. Thanks so much for your assistance Tracy. You rock!!
If I could give a zero I would. My dad had been a customer with Life Storage since when the name was Uncle Bob my dad passed away in 2014 and I took over the storage unit in my dad had been a customer with Life Storage since when the name was Uncle Bob my dad passed away in 2014 and I took over the storage unit as far as paying for the rent. I called asking if one day I could get a late fee waived because I was having some issues with the online portal and I was declined for the late fee to be waived by store management. Area director Tim Cox who was less than professional and ended up hanging up in my face after I continued to plead with him in regards to the late fee. Mind you I have... Read More
Life Storage #648
The manager Mr. Kramer, at this location is extremely professional and friendly. My numerous interactions with him have been very pleasant and professional. The facility is clean, well lit and my belongings have been safe, clean and secure for the past 16 months. I really highly recommend this location.

Abysmal when it comes to customer service. I'm an "essential worker" due to COVID-19; a travel nurse, who typically works 3P- 3A, or 3P-7A, I don't have much time for accessing my things due to the narrow access hours offered by Life Storage. That's a small problem that could have been addressed by honoring my request for open access to an "essential worker" who is working or sleeping the only time Life Storage makes available. This is a do able request that other storage facilities readily avail. The big problem is Life Storage will not consider so small a customer courtesy, and when I called around 2:36PM the smart mouth Pam had the nerve to say, "Well your awake now." That... Read More
Storage Bandits
Storage Bandits.
The new people have no clue what they signed up for.
Life storage is scam facility from NY, disgraceful. Erroneous credit card charges, Random rate increases. Definitely look for a better facility.
They purchase good reviewed facilities then racquet new and existing renters. Most of the good reviews aren't theirs, they came with the purchase.
Seriously watch out. I'm sure that there is a much better facility near you.
BEWARE! (I'd give them ZERO stars if that was an option)
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS STORAGE FACILITY IF YOU ARE USING IT LONG TERM.
Their rate increases are off the charts ridiculous. First increase was 22%, then the most recent is 33%.
This really should be against the law. I'll be making arrangements to get my stuff out right away.
Nine months ago I was able to write a review about how great the service was at this place. Unfortunately, that is no longer true. I downsized my unit in May and had a credit. They told me I would receive a bill in my email when I owed money again. I did not receive a bill. The first email I got was on July 11 telling me I was overdue and charging a late fee. It was only $15 but I called to ask it to be waived since they had failed to send me a bill by email as promised. The man at the store would not listen to me. I finally raised my voice and yelled, please stop interrupting and let me finish. His response ( I quote) "You are treating me like a f****** child. Call back later."... Read More
Cannot discourage anyone enough from renting here. I did last April and moved into a brand new building. 5 months later when I retrieved something from my unit everything in it was soaking wet and moldy. It took 3 weeks for the people at this facility to arrange for me to move into a new unit - I may have been able to save some things in that time. The insurance they sold me does not cover water damage unless the water comes from a pipe or something else in the building that is supposed to hold water - so basically it doesn't cover any water damage. I have now paid over $700 and have a unit full of damages, moldy furniture. Estimated cost I am out is $11,000 at this point including the... Read More
