Services and Features
SunRun is servicing any types of roof such as inclined, flat, asphalt and tiles. But, the panel should be installed on the right spot to get adequate amount of sunlight and to the greatest extent as possible.
Like other solar energy companies, SunRun offers one-time payment, power purchase agreement, solar loans and leasing. However, rates and other fees may differ in terms of methods of payment.

Stay away. the whole thing is a scam if you think you are saving money you are mistaken you will be paying twice as much to them and electricity provider . from sale gimmick to customer service all is a joke,
AVOID AVOID AVOID
My nine-year old system failed in mid-September 2023. Sunrun says: "If something happens, or your system performance dips, we are alerted and contact you ASAP to get it fixed." THEY DID NOT. I discovered it at the end of the month and called THEM. It is now November and NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. I HAVE CHATTED FOUR TIMES AND CALLED TWICE.
AVOID AVOID AVOID.
Also, shame on you, Costco.
Stay away. After 13 months of panel installation, my combined Sunrun lease and payment to my electricity provider is higher than before. I called Sunrun to ask for help and was told they could do nothing. I asked for a technician to come and assess the situation, which would cost me $199. I asked for more panels, and they said no, it can't be done. They said I would generate enough energy for 90% of my needs when I met them. I am at 76%.
The partnership of SunRun and Costco is surprising. As a Costco member, we expected SunRun to follow in the same type of quality service and honesty as Costco. We paid a pretty price to discover how wrong we were. Too many half-truths to list that amounted to deception and dishonesty. It amazes us that Costco would continue to partner with SunRun in light of their false claims about kW coverage, costs, products, net metering, and good customer service. Though a case manager has been assigned to our issue, we have yet to come to a resolution. Solar is a good idea, but going at it with SunRun is not. Consider looking for other options....we wish we had.
WOST Company and NOT RECOMMENDED for SOLAR panels. They started this project on Feb 2023 and still didn't get permission from city. Meanwhile sunrun installed solar panels. I talked to city and city saying sunrun is not responding their queries. so i asked sunrun to terminate my project because of excess delay but they are saying i am liable for the installation. sunrun installed solar panels without getting approvals from city and cheating customers and still they are net able to get permits. so this is not worth for single star also. DO NOT go with SUNRUN.
BUYER BEWARE! Please, if anyone from Sunrun approaches you, your door, from Costco or wherever DO NOT use this company. Read all the most recent reviews. I think they average a 1 dating back to June. What do you do when you see a restaurant rated a 1? Enough said. I signed on with them back in March. They still have not even started the work. Their excuse, PG&E. Do Not Go With SunRun Solar, These guys are a Shoot Show of all companies. The Saleperson was fine but the installation was a nightmare that hasn't ended. I have two homes on one lot and I wanted solar on both homes. The main home was to have 12 panels and the smaller house 8 panels. They reversed the project and gave the main house 8 panel and 12 to the smaller house. So main house will have a huge pg&e bill at the end and the smaller house will over produce in energy. They keep sending text that I owe them $6000.00 dollars before I even started producing, when I call nobody knows what is going on. The salesman was a good liar. We are older, 60 and 70, and only wanted to save money on our electricity. Not looking to invest in our property, just lower the bills. "How long after install will it be producing power?" We were told, 'Well, your getting in early in the year which is good. 4-6 weeks, no guarantee.' Alrighty! Cut our bill almost in half in less than 2 months, no cash out of pocket....dammit we just should have known better. Longtime Costco Member! Purchased solar in 2019 thru Costco’s company, Sunrun. First rainstorm after install, garage flooded. Sunrun came to repair leak couple weeks later. Late 2022 with heavy rains, experienced another leak in bedroom directly under solar install. Sunrun sent team, was told leak was repaired. Sadly with next large rainstorm, leak began again except worse pouring onto hardwood floor and causing damage. We had leak inspected by private company. Damages more extensive than initially told by Sunrun. Now dealing with mold. Inspection reports/photos/images of damage all provided to Sunrun. When it comes to servicing their systems look somewhere else. Sunrun is very slow to respond to problems. My system has been down for over a month and after a failed attempt at fixing it, Sunrun is requesting that I wait another two weeks before they send a crew to look at it again. Horrible service!
This company is so frustrating to deal with especially when trying to get an issue resolved. When I first bought my home in 2021 it was a hassle to get things transferred over to me from the person selling the home since for whatever reason they could not find the paperwork and had me sign it multiple times since they did not know. Now love forward to September 2022 I can’t see bills on one of my accounts but the other I can. I report the issue multiple times to them since it is an error with their online system. Trapped in a lease we can't get out of and isn't at all what was promised to us. No outs for the consumer. Rude in the process of trying to resolve it. Stay far, far away.
Overall experience, highly NOT recommends anyone to use SUNRUN, we hugely regret purchasing solar system with them. We got trapped by their sales, we got told we will get a 30% tax refund, the sales helped us set up a solar loan package, planned to use that 30% refund to settle part of our solar loan payment. End up we found out that is a non-refundable tax credit, as we don't have that much tax payment last year, we only got 10% tax credit back, now we have to figure out how to settle the 20% loan payment, if we are unable to that, our monthly installment will increase $80 more each month. I have had nothing but problems from Sunrun. The point was to reduce my electric bill but since the start we have been paying $1000-2000 at the end of the year to our electric company on top of the $190 a month. Today we are at $300+ a month to electric company, with no change to our electric use habits from the start. Now I have been dealing with a leaky roof ever since it was installed the past 3 years because the tar and gravel is not sealed to the brackets correctly. They did send someone to patch some issues but it never fully got resolved. Their roofers stated we needed a new roof. If I could give 0 stars for customer service I would. They are breaching my contract that warrants the roof for 10 years. I have spent 4 months trying to get Sunrun to remove my solar panels so that I may replace the "leaking" roof and they want to charge me an additional $4,000 to remove and replace! My contract states on p.2 "Sunrun warrants that roof penetrations will be weather-tight for a period of ten (10) years after installation". After not less than 20 phone calls over the past 4 months and completing the "Damage Claim Form" at least 3 times, they still have not made arrangements to remove the panels!
Do not do business with this company. They are pure evil!
I have their system installed and have been battling customer service since July of 2019 to get my system functioning properly . It hasn't produced a watt of electricity since Jan. 2022. Customer service is the WORST!
Using Sunrun for my solar power system is the worst decision I have made in my entire adult life.
I can only hope that there is a special place in hell for Sunrun's management team.

My Sunrun system has been down, not producing electricity since May 2021. Every time I call customer service, they say they are still waiting on parts which were ordered almost 6 months ago. Very bad customer service. Should never have gone with Sunrun.
I am severely displeased with Sunrun and the sales people they employ. I indicated that I was interested in getting solar while taking advantage of the Costco promotion several times throughout our communications. During the months that I considered Solar my salesperson inundated me with calls and texts to follow up and sell me solar. I was shopping around looking for the best value and most affordable solar panels, to which my sales person promised as an added bonus that he would throw in an additional $1000 gift card to "sweeten the deal" in addition to other incentives promised. WORST Company to do business with. I wish there is a way to submit a NEGATIVE 5 star review. What Sunrun is doing with me is flat out FRAUD. I am having several problems with Sunrun solar: this claim is for billing issues only Issue 1: My sun run account still shows that I have had a $128 overdue payment since November even though the payment was made on time. I took picture evidence of the website showing the payment was submitted, my credit card account showing the funds withdrawn and a follow-up email from Sunrun confirming the payment was made. They accept no responsibility, just cash. If you want to purchase your equipment - TOO BAD. You are not able to purchase the equipment. You are stuck in an ever-increasing contract that will not allow you to buy out. SunRun is a shady company with malicious practices.
I haven't had a problem with sunrun until my roof started leaking. The support is rude, they canceled third party installer/roofer out of their system and I had to start all over to get panels removed. After a 3 months their removers show up and didn't even take panels off roof. They didn't call me or email me my tenants were under impression the panels were off. The roofers remove tarps to find panels still there. You can't reach anyone untill10 am ET. At this point Id like to remove keep them off with service like this.
