Healthy Paws Pet Insurance review
I have been with Healthy Paws for over 11 years, and I used to be very happy with them (which is why they get a three star review and not lower). I have had a lot of issues with them in the last 6 months. Recently, I appealed a part of a denial and after waiting 2 months for the appeal to be reviewed, they sent me a letter stating that the appeal was denied but it was not based on the items that I was appealing on. Now, I get an email stating that my new rate will be $6 less a month ($142 instead of $146), but my deductible is going up from $250 to $500, and my reimbursement is going down from 80% to 70%. When I signed up for Healthy Paws, they claimed that there would be no reduction in coverage due to age or claims made. It seems that they have dropped this policy. Now that my dog is 11, I feel stuck with this insurance because of a pre-existing condition he has. It's outrageous, as I have been paying a fairly premium for years now, and this is how they treat their customers. It didn't use to be this way. With my next dog, I will definitely be looking for a different pet insurance company.

I cannot say enough positive things about my experience with Healthy Paws. My cocker spaniel, Roger, has needed 3 surgeries and without Healthy Paws support we would not be able to afford his much needed and very costly treatment. I recommend Healthy Paws to everyone I meet!

Regarding the online quoting system + let me include multiple pets on same quote - can't figure out how to pay an annual amount rather than monthly - they add $25 to the first payment for account set up =deal breaker

I've not actually had my pets covered under this insurer, but they are among the ones I obtained quotes from while shopping around. I have 2 cats; a 4 yr old male & a 12 yr old female. The female is actually in better health than the male, with his frequent UTIs, however because she is over 8 yrs old the best plan they will give me is a $500 deductible & 70% reimbursement, with various limitations. And at the same rate as the comprehensive plan for my male, which has a $100 deductible & reimburses at 90%.
