All stored data is protected with AES-256 bit encryption, PBKDF2 SHA-256, and salted hashing.

Services and Features

LastPass makes remembering all your password easier by letting you set a master password. It then stores and locks all your passwords and automatically enters this information when needed. It comes with unlimited password storage and easy access to make logins quick and easy. Once a user saves a password, it is instantly available on all devices.

Digital records such as memberships, Wi-Fi password, and insurance card information are securely kept for later reference. LastPass also offers an effortless password sharing function in which a user can safely share passwords or notes with anyone.

LastPass makes online shopping both easy and secure by storing payment cards and shipping details in the vault and making them available whenever a purchase is made. LastPass encrypts all data with an AES-256 bit encryption, PBKDF2 SHA-256, and salted hashing. Users can get LastPass browser extension to save and access passwords quickly by just clicking the button in their browser toolbar.

LastPass is available for as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Opera, and Internet Explorer.  Users simply have to create an account with one long and secure memorable passphrase, known as a master password, and the software does the rest of the work.

LastPass vault lets users add, view, and manage all saved items. It has a built-in password generator which creates long, randomized passwords protecting users from cyber theft. An auto-fill function is available which automatically fills logins for the user when they sign in. It is also designed with Security Challenge that finds weak, old, and vulnerable passwords which may be lurking in the vault, and breach monitoring of email addresses stored in your vault to identify compromised credentials.

Prior to any technology purchase for our 3800+ staff, an employee of average technical ability is chosen to be the guinea pig for the product. The decision to purchase is based on product ease of use, as well as responsiveness of customer service and technical support. It was my turn, this time, and I wish it had been for LITERALLY ANY other product. I signed up and paid for a subscription as a Premium User, not for the Enterprise Trial. It turns out that last pass has glitches that make it difficult to properly use. I've been emailing with them for weeks - they return emails late at night and don't have any phone support unless you have an Enterprise account. Their email support has not... Read More

I have learned one thing from my experience with LastPass and that is this: I will NEVER,NEVER trust my personal information, passwords, e-mail accounts, credit cards or anything in--between with another firm that claims to safeguard my most vulnerable information too like LastPass that violates the very thing they claim to protect. They will make any statement they feel that will help their profit margin and when (not if) they fall short it's no big deal, you will never be able to find them. All the precious security they promise you goes into their security to hide in the dark. In my opinion, they are worse than thieves because they lurk in the shadows under the umbrella of... 2019-05-05 10:02 Me, to LastPass How do you expect to be able provide support to anyone who "secured" their email with LastPass, and cannot now, as a result, recieve email? Why do you insult users by avoiding them, using GetHuman to run interference for you, who can only assist those who can get email? Why do you not even have a customer service PHONE Number? You should consider allowing GetHuman to have you CALL the user, if you don't want to give out your phone number. Advising people they must log in to get help logging in is STUPID!! 2019-05-05 10:07 Me, to LastPass Add my cellphone number so I can get hep via SMS (text): (***) ***-****. I am trying this means because I... Read More

We experienced an issue with password recovery. All attempts failed using their recovery methods. Support via email was non-existent. In addition, creating and sharing passwords via the family option never worked correctly.

Lastpass worked well for a period of time. But someone was able to hack Lastpass. I tried to contact to create a new master password but it always caused an error. I opened a "ticket" with them but they did not follow up. I am having to drop them because I have had every bank account, every email address, every credit card hacked and I have not been able to change the master password. Their customer support is very slow and poor. PS I am a Premium paid client and that did not help.

This program is great if you have a few credit cards and a bank account, but if you have other types of accounts that are more complex the program is almost completely useless. The help desk is almost nonexistent if you have a problem. I was charged twice for the Premium product and they were of no help. There is no one to talk to or text to get help.

I absolutely love lastpass. I have had a few occasions when it didn't recognize my master password right away. But, I was patient and careful to re-enter it a couple of times and it worked fine. I have complete confidence in its ease and reliability. However, there were a couple of instances when websites did not accept the stored password. I don't think those were the fault of lastpass.

I installed Last Pass on my computer as a trial. Had it installed as a browser browser extension also. I put it on my iPhone thinking this could simplify all my issues. Without notice it just disapperared with all my passwords that I trusted it with. Was it hacked? Was my computer hacked? Doesn't seem secure at all.

I have used LastPass for the last few years and find it less than satisfying. It is, many times, slow at filling in my passwords and on some sites refuses to input anything. On top of this, their renewal payment system has bugs as I have not been able to pay for the service with my Business Credit Card. I was simply told by customer service that this was my fault for not entering the right number, (even though I re-entered it several times) I will be moving to another password manager later this year. I do not recommend LastPass. Too many glitches and poor customer service. This is my opinion and your mileage may be different.

We'be been using this for about a year - ran into a problem where the file must be corrupted or some other problem. Been trying to get them to fix it for over a week - stopped a lot of work since we can't access the websites we used to have in this software. Very irritating

I've had LastPass for years, and have it as an extension on my Firefox toolbar. Until recently, all I needed to do was click on the toolbar icon, and LastPass started up! (Dropdown menu, anyway). Lately, I have a little black box there and have to right-click on it, and get a new login screen before it will start. I've tried "Support" several times, and have been told to remove the lastPass extension, delete LastPass and reinstall, delete Firefox and reinstall to create a new profile. The problem always comes back. 3 months ago I'd give it 5 stars. But now only one. There must be something better!

I have used LastPass for about a year. All of a sudden now, it has completely disappeared from my computer! I have typed in my email address and password and it doesn't recognize the password! I would have given it 5 stars but now it's a zero star - unless I can get it back~

LastPass Premier was (past tense) a great Password Manager until about two months ago when auto fill-in stopped working for all sites. LastPass customer service said they were aware of that problem, and "are working to fix it". (Nope!) Access using Safari on a relatively new iMac (OS 10.13.6). Now users must copy the password to the clipboard, then go back, reopen the site with LastPass, and then manually fill-in username and paste the password. LastPass said they are working on the problem, but I have seen nothing to indicate there is a fix anywhere on the horizon. I have complained to customer service twice and get the standard answer - we're working on the problem! Very clumsy three... Read More

LastPass has the worst customer service ever!! I opened a ticket 4 days ago, I am locked out of my account and all my passwords are with LP. I have not gotten a response as yet. There is no live telephone support. I followed all of the instructions to try to recover the master pwd, but it keeps telling that the ome time pwd is invalid. I have tried three different browsers. I would give it a negative rating if I could.

I've been a LastPass customer for 5+ years and am very happy with the service -- love their 'score' which tells me how old my passwords are, instances where I have duplicate passwords, weak passwords, etc. Highly recommend LastPass

All of a sudden LastPass requires that I log in every time I reboot my computer, access EDGE or go to any other site. I have had no luck in trying to fix this problem and there appears to be no support from LastPass. Perhaps time to try another Password program? I have used this program for years and have been totally satisfied until this problem.

Me too, I found Dashline hard to use, it didn't sync well across all my different platforms, it didn't auto sign in on certain websites and didn't remember my login on certain websites. LastPass is much easier to use and more stable then Dashlane.

I find LastPass to be MORE user friendly than Dashlane. (I had initially signed up for Dashlane but had lost my 'master password' for it; and trying to reenter the Dashlane service is worse than an act of Congress - practically impossible !!!!) I got so frustrated that I researched other password services and found LastPass. I am, so far, happy with it.
