Aura recently jumped into the parental controls market. The company is well established in the identity theft protection category and its family plans include comprehensive identity theft protection features. This particular service can alert you to breaches to your online accounts, including credit cards and the tech services you use, as well as help you monitor and set limits on your kids' online activity. Parental control features include content filtering and screen time limits on kids’ mobile devices. These features are powered by Circle’s award-winning technology.

Aura Features & Services

Features & Services - 4.5 / 5

With Aura, you can customize what your kids can view online. You can easily choose apps, games, and websites to limit or restrict altogether. The app also allows you to set time limits for kids' screen time and the Pause the Internet(R) is a simple way to pause the internet altogether on kids’ devices. A new safe gaming feature is especially valuable for parents of kids who play online games. Nearly a third of kids who play online games experience some form of bullying and harassment and Aura can help by alerting parents to signs of cyberbullying. With 24/7 in-game voice and text monitoring for over 200 of the most popular PC games, parents can have greater peace of mind. In an age when identity theft is growing more common, Aura provides features for your entire family. It will alert you if your child's registered Social Security Number or online accounts have been detected on the dark web. Aura’s customer support is 100% based in the U.S. and is available 24/7 via phone or email. If a member becomes a victim of identity theft, they will be assigned a white glove resolution agent to help them recover their identity and assets. White glove resolution agents generally have years of experience and can set up three-way calls between the member and financial institutions and call government agencies on your behalf. That means that each time they call Aura to speak with customer support, they will speak to the same person, and up to 90 days after a case has been resolved, the case agent will check in to ensure no new threats arise. The company recently added a few new features such as alerting you to cyberbullying threats while your child is gaming.

Aura Customer Experience

Customer Experience - 4.3 / 5

Aura's website does not provide very many specifics on the Circle app, which makes it difficult to evaluate its plans or compare them to other parental control products. We would have liked to have seen information on how alerts are delivered, filtering options for different kinds of content, and how many devices are covered by the app. Aura's website provides much more information on the identity theft features of its app than it does on the Circle features. However, you can learn more about Circle by visiting the app's website.

Aura is accredited by the Better Business Bureau and earns an A+ rating from that organization. The company receives a 4.5 out of 5-star rating on Trustpilot. The Circle app receives a 3.7 rating on Google Play and 4 stars on the Apple App Store.
