Founded in 2000 and based in New Jersey, Lightspeed, LLC operates consumer research and consumer survey sites in order to provide information to companies to help them shape their brands. One survey site operated by Lightspeed is LifePoints.com.

LifePoints - Overview

LifePoints is a paid survey resource with more that 5,000,000 members. The company's philosophy is based around allowing users to "connect, contribute, and collect." LifePoints enables users to connect with members worldwide and share their feedback regarding the companies that solicit responses over the service. This allows them to better understand the habits and concerns of their consumers, and in turn allows consumers to help shape what companies are offering. Similarly, LifePoints allows those who take their surveys to actively contribute to influencing what brands offer consumers all over the world. Lastly, LifePoints lets its users obtain points by completing the surveys. These points can be redeemed for gift cards at physical stores and websites such as:

  • Starbucks
  • Target
  • Macys
  • Amazon Prime
  • PayPal
  • Nordstrom

Features and Services

LifePoints allows members to join for free and gives them 10 points just for signing up. To begin, users just need to create an account with minimal information, including their name, email, address, and password. Users are then guided through a series of demographic questions in order to properly tailor their survey taking experience. Once this is completed, members can immediately begin taking surveys for points. Surveys can be accessed from a dashboard, aside from the number of points and survey time, there is no further information on the subject matter until the member decides to take the survey.

The first survey we decided to try with LifePoints was worth 50 points and lasted approximately 10 minutes. Depending on the browser you are using, you must disable any popup blockers before you begin. There are no special skills or expertise required to take a Lifepoints survey. Customers need only have an opinion to express. Aside from surveys, LifePoints also offers other items on its dashboard like external contests, inspirational quotes, and fun facts.

LifePoints parent company, LightSpeed, LLC has a C+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. This seems mainly to be centered around challenges the company faced during setup in 2016 and the resultant backlog of complaints. However, all current complaints on the BBB have been answered or resolved by the organization, and LightSpeed has endeavored to re credit users with their missing points.

Worst site ever!! Terminate you for NO REASON!!! Claim you violated their rules but refuse to give you the specific rule you violated. And they take back ALL gift cards you earned and they haven't paid you yet!! No reason, no discussion, you're just terminated!! So disrespectful, disgusting, unbelievable, dishonest people who run this website!! Especially when you know you have done nothing wrong! They just don't want to pay out what they owe! Unbelievable!! Stay far far away from this site!!! Not worth it that's for sure!!!

My membership with Lifepoints was recently cancelled with no specific reason but that I violated some agreement. When I was member I did not qualify for about 50% of the surveys and restricted my personal data to be used for marketing purposes. Ironically when I actually had a technical issue with website it was not resolved.

I have been a Lifepoints member for over 10 years. Suddenly my account with 200,000 points was deleted. I contacted them and they said I must have unsubscribed accidently. I did not ever go into that screen to unsubscribe, I did a survey just the night before. They told me that if i re-subscribe using a new e-mail account they could transfer my points to the new account. I did this and they responded that they will not allow me to resubscribe. So, 200,000 points down the drain. Be aware and do not all your points to accumulate too high. You will loose them.

I have been a loyal member for over one year and all of a sudden the company has terminated by account for what they say is breach of conditions. However, I have no idea what they are talking about and their answer is they don't have to give me a reason for termination. I find this highly unfair that they do not have to give you any sort of explanation

Be sure to copy down the survey number before you start. I've had multiple instances of finishing a survey and at the end receiving a message that the survey was full, but thanks oh, so much for your time.

Sounds easy and fun although they don’t explain the value of each point also no explanation on how you get paid in cash

It's a scam. You click on a survey that says it rewards 100 points. After completing the survey without any technical difficulties or pauses, it says "We're sorry, you didn't complete it...here's 2 points". The help FAQ indicates you have to contact them with the survey number, yet the survey number doesn't show in your history. So, you have to argue to get your points, and you have to track the survey numbers yourself. They want your time but don't want to compensate you. Typical.
