Founded in 2015, LetsGetChecked offers a wide range of in-home medical testing kits that allow consumers to skip the doctor's office and the lab in favor of a private, convenient experience. Tests kits are delivered by mail and, when self-administered, returned to the company to be completed by high-quality laboratories and interpreted by licensed physicians. LetsGetChecked offers cholesterol and thyroid screening tests, tests for sexually transmitted diseases, tests for nutritional deficiencies, COVID-19 kits, and more. The company is located in New York, New York.

Breadth of Services

Since its founding in 2015, LetsGetChecked has sold and processed over two million at-home test kits. The range of tests available through the company is pretty remarkable and includes many of the tests routinely ordered by doctors at wellness visits and for diagnosing acute and chronic conditions. If you get your cholesterol and thyroid checked once a year, for example, you needn't make an appointment to see your doctor or visit a laboratory to keep up with your care. If you're concerned you may have caught a sexually transmitted disease, you don't have to have an awkward conversation with the doc you've been seeing since you graduated from your pediatrician's practice. If you're a performance athlete who monitors your micro-nutrient intake religiously, you can track how well you're doing through LetsGetChecked. LetsGetChecked offers test kits related to women's and men's unique health concerns, as well, including some tests that can diagnose fertility issues and aid couples in achieving a pregnancy. Women may also purchase two different prescription birth control pills directly from LetsGetChecked. The company can certainly make medical care more convenient and, for some individuals, may be uniquely empowering.

That being said, the company offers limited services. It should not be confused with a full telemedicine platform, where patients can have virtual appointments and receive treatment for urgent or chronic conditions. However, if an online doctor suggests you undergo testing, LetsGetChecked may be a resource you can use to "virtualize" more of your healthcare experience.

Professional Credentials and Licensures

When you return a test kit to LetsGetChecked, the company will send your sample to a high-quality professional laboratory for completion. All of the company's laboratory partners are CLIA and CAP-accredited so customers can expect the same level of accuracy with LetsGetChecked tests that they get from the labs their local doctors and hospitals use. LetsGetChecked employs licensed physicians and nurse practitioners to review and interpret test results and consumers have access to these professionals to discuss their results. This is a critical feature of LetsGetChecked's services. Knowing you need to be tested is quite different from knowing what test results mean. And it's definitely not the same as knowing when follow-up treatment is called for based on your test results. LetsGetChecked clinicians do not provide ongoing medical care, but will let you know when your test results indicate you should see a doctor.

Price

The LetsGetChecked product line includes over 30 different test kits. Some are single tests and others are comprehensive test panels. Prices vary considerably as a result. To give you an idea of the range of prices, a cholesterol test currently costs $79 on the site. A test for Lyme Disease costs $119. An ovarian reserve test, which can be important in family planning, costs $139. All test kits appear to cost under $200. Compared to other self-administered test kit companies, LetsGetChecked's prices are somewhat high. Depending on where you live, they may cost less or more than having a test performed at a local laboratory. But either way, the tests save you time and offer greater privacy. And unlike some at-home testing companies that bundle tests, LetsGetChecked permits you to purchase tests individually. That allows customers to purchase just the tests they need and prevents having to pay for more products and services than necessary.

LetsGetChecked offers free standard shipping both to and from your home. Express shipping is also available for an additional $35.

Customer Experience

The LetsGetChecked website is well-organized and easy to shop. The company describes its services and credentials clearly. You can browse the company's product list in several ways, such as viewing all tests or narrowing them to a specific category like wellness or sexual health. The company provides a description of what each tests measures, why you might need the test, and how to collect the sample required to complete the test. Pricing is quite clear. Overall, the company has created a very positive user experience on its site.
