For the Public Record, this is my reply to the Excalibur email: The reply from Excalibur is grossly inaccurate, based on heresy, and does not represent the situation that occurred at the property in La Quinta, CA, the morning of September 27th, 2018. To be clear, there were four individuals present at my property the morning of September 27th, myself, the Excalibur contracted driver, and 2 laborers. The Excalibur contracted driver and laborers arrived at 12:30PM CA time (3:30 PM at Excalibur in Florida) in a large Ryder truck from the San Fernando Valley. What Excalibur fails to provide in their email is a copy of the third estimate that was handed to me by the Excalibur driver... Read More
I contracted with Excalibur Moving Group on July 17, 2018 to move my daughter from Indiana to Ohio. I gave the required deposit of $615.00 to Excalibur and later, on the same day, notified them as required by email of my intent to cancel the contract and requested my refund. As of today, February 27, 2019, I still do not have my refund. I have called contless times to no avail and emailed many times as well. No one answers my emails and my calls were often not h answered at all or I was told no one was available to help me. This is not the kind of company to do any work for you. Not responsible or truthful and refuse to answer and refund my money.
same scam for us as all below. they always quote way below and say they are quoting high so we will pay less. they DOUBLED the cost of move the day the movers arrived. total bait and switch. all our stuff was broken and lost/ stolen but they told us we were insured, which we turned out not to be (i guess they don't want rates to go up so they discourage anyone from taking insurance.) the 10k coverage they had turns out to be based on 60 cents a pound! so if they break a $1000 crystal vase, you get $6.00. for example. I could write all day about how badly this went and how dishonest they are, but i now see way too late all across the internet that others have already done so.
EXCALIBUR MOVING OTHER WISE KNOWN AS BLUE COLLAR MOVING, THE BLUE COLLAR BASED OUT OF FLORIDA NOT THE NEW JERSEY COMPANY, THE BIGGEST SCAM ARTIST I HAVE EVER COME ACROSS. FIRST, THEY PRESENT THEIR SELVES AS A MOVING COMPANY THEY QUOTE YOUR MOVE CHEAP MAKE IT SOUND LIKE YOU ARE GETTING AN AMAZING DEAL. THEY COME OFF AS TOP OF THE LINE PEOPLE GAIN YOUR TRUST AND MONEY AND THEN THE MASK FALLS OFF. SO, LET ME GIVE YOU MY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS TRASH COMPANY. I SPOKE WITH ANDREW IN SALES. NOW ANDREW COMES OFF AS A NICE GUY SOUNDS LIKE HE KNOWS WHAT HES TALKING ABOUT, ASSURED ME THAT THE AMOUNT IN WHICH THEY GAVE ME IS THE HIGHEST ESTIMATE BASED ON WEIGHT AND I QUOTE” WE OVER ESTIMATE THE MOVE... This company regularly misrepresents itself as a mover when they are a broker, this means they sub contract out to random companies which impacts quality control. Most of my items arrived damaged, Many never arrived. They deliberately underbid then regularly hold you items hostage for double the fee agrred upon. I reported them to 3 attorney generals and here: https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/protect-your-move/file-a-complaint
Our experience was the move from Hell. Our estimate was $1500.00 less than what we were required to pay. The truck that was sent was not big enough for our move, even after a thorough inventory. We were told that anything we decided not to move would be taken off the inventory and not charged, that proved to be untrue. We paid the down payment with our bank debit/credit card, the balance was demanded in cash. Excaliber told me that since I signed the bill of lading there was no recourse, and no reimbursements. I was told to sue them. Janis Andersen
They have no professionalism, no accountability, no integrity. They took 1300 of my money, made a contract, did not honor their 'price guarantee' in any way, infact they gave me a discount then took it back the next day! They were supposed to arrive this morning and have ignored my dozens of phone calls and emails and left me stranded for an international move I'm supposed to do tomorrow. They are fraudulent and entirely corrupt.
The company has positive customer reviews across various sites. However, there are 23 complaints filed against them with the Department of Transportation this year alone. As a reference, most companies in our top ten list have had less than 10 complaints filed against them over the past 3 years.
In light of this, since Excalibur is a broker that relies on other moving companies (subcontractors) to do the actual work, we strongly recommend customers thoroughly research the moving carrier Excalibur ultimately pairs them with before committing to anything. This can be done by looking up the MC License Number on the US Department of Transportation's website to find out if and what type of complaints have been filed against them.
